1st of all its too early to predict
but....they missed beal 20+ points

and then problems come out
seraphin might be a bust, but he did pretty good in pre-season,
also the blair signing is not that bad but there 3 centers rotation seem to have a problem
would you play blair chasing 3's or clogging the paint? im not that sure on seraphin too
that is why its better to play humphries as back-up 5 since pierce could play the 4
so now its either blair or seraphin will be DNP

also temple can't shoot, and miller is aging can't score, so they got another back-up PG problem and since beal is out you should expect rice jr. to at least give you 15points a game
and im also not sure if porter is ready to play the starting sf role everytime pierce needs a rest, specially vs. cleveland where porter needs to guard lebron while marion is at the bench...
rice jr. and porter are 50-50 to improved this season
rasual butler signing is also a questionable signing, if temple nor miller will not get any minutes why signed butler?
gortat wall pierce injured any of them...wizards are in big trouble

if they could also signed ed davis for 3million, why seraphin? there's also anthony randolph which you can play for 3 then pierce play the 4...there's haddadi maxiell villanueva or they rather have a guy like leonard for 2nd pick maybe same as seraphin 3 million?

and now humphries needs to get in his rhythm to help the team. i felt like they signed all 4 big at the same time which all them are rebounders, i think a quick team can easily destroy wizards 2nd unit defense specially playing a 6'7 center, this team rely on rebounding and they look like a jump shooting team, no one even protect or clogged the paint for vs. wade and cole
webster also has a back-injury history

what is there 2nd unit problem? any opinions? i think our 2nd unit bench is much better than them...

Washington are missing Bradley Beal (starting SG) and Martell Webster (best backup wing). That has hurt them on the perimeter at the wing positions. They currently only have one reliable wing player (37 year old Paul Pierce) and one up and coming wing (2nd year Otto Porter) who are rotation caliber talent on wing positions.

The rest of those wing minutes are going to weak players (Temple, Glen Rice Jr, Rasual Butler) who are often liabilities and hurt Washington. So the wing positions -- due to injuries -- have really hurt Washington's depth. They do not have the depth to survive losing 2 of their top 3 wings. Good news is that this should fix itself once Beal and Webster get healthy. Short term problem rather than a long term problem.

Injuries will hurt ya.... Wiz should be fine. They have enough to stay in the playoff hunt. It is likely this will make them stronger having gone through a portion of the season with out key guys. It's all about being healthy and clicking come playoffs which can be said for any team.

if miller temple rice jr. don't help on offense its still a problem
remember blair will only play depending on match-ups
seraphin might go for 0 over 0
so humphries will move to 5 and gooden as back-up 4
if cleveland was there they will just attack the paint, as heat did
+ i want to see more porter rice rj. attacking the paint rather than hitting 3's and 2's

Rice Jr. has also been injured. He's finally active but not back to 100% yet.

Porter's been really impressive, actually.  I still think he could potentially take the starting role from Pierce if the old man loses gas.  Porter looks like he can score from all over the court.

Porter had a solid preseason - 12 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals in 26.5 minutes  on 47% shooting .... He had 13 points, 4 rebounds and a steal in 24 minutes (57% shooting) the first game of the regular season.   He struggled a bit in game 2, but he only played 18 minutes... 5 fouls and 3 steals show he was aggressive.  Prior to that, he's shown a lot of consistency all month... plus he was outstanding in summer league, but that's summer league.

Porter with 21 last night on another wonderfully efficient shooting night.

How soon until he replaces Pierce in the starting lineup?
