Turner was the Player of the night. I am WELL AWARE he was playing against the D-League allstars. Lets forget stats for a second (Yea lets forget the 16pts, 10rbs and 6 ast off 5/11 shooting). Turner took a leadership role and that alone he needs to be praised for. He made everyone around him better and was a great example for the rookies. He took over the game and made sure everyone was engaged. That mentality was exceptional for our rookies to feed off . BS couldnt of asked for more.

Like I said I understand its the D-League Allstars! Its none the less a step in the right direction noone was expecting. IF we wouldve did a poll for Turner his #'s wouldve been 8pts 5 rbs 3asst 4-12 shooting. The man did his thing. No matter the scenario he stepped up which was a plus for the team in a whole!

Im just sooo happy he did his thing if not, I wouldve woke up to 5 threads about him instead of one. I love turner. his game has flaws. But at the same time his game can be extremely beneficial around the right set of guys who cover his weaknesses

I mean, it's similar to the numbers he was putting up on the Sixers last year.  He needs to do quite a bit more before he starts getting credit.  We've already seen that he can put up numbers on a bad team, particularly when he's playing other bad teams; that's not exactly news.

we are rebuilding, our team is meant to suck! But at the same time, we are upgrading our roster little by little. Is Evan Turner in our future, probably not, but is he better than our guard rotation of last year, ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY

Are some CBloggers trying to tell me they rather have Pressey/Babbs/Johnson over Evan?

And I completely agree with you. Its only one game. But at the same time  you can say hes atleast starting out as the high upside player we was hoping to see with the low risk we took. I still woke up to a "Turner aint fooling me thread. If ya son sucks at soccer and finally has a good game , you praise the boy. Its a step in a good direction. HE was asked to play point and he did his thing.

Hes deff not i nthe long term plans. But he was the best example for the rookies BS could've asked for. HE wil lcarry our 2nd unit if give them that extra confidence push when needed. At the same time hes building trade value. OVerall if he keep it up hes helping the C's in the long run

Yea unless  throughout the season he makes KO, Sully, and Smart extremely better players I dont see him staying around long term. As of now though, hes  is a example to the young guards we have on how to have confidence. He will keep the 2nd unit from getting spanked, and hes building good trade value. You couldnt ask for more from a 3mill player

He's a stopgap and he appears to be a very serviceable one at that.  I'm fine with him as they continue the rebuild.  I don't think he'll be around here for the long-term but that shouldn't matter in the present.

I think turner off the bench makes our 2nd unit look not to shabby. HE will also be a great filler when   Rondo, Bradley, or Green get injured. I just hoped he can play close to the level he did last night. He still a little sloppy at times. Im pretty sure that draw some hate as well

That is a GREAT point, for a 16 ppg/6rpg, for ONLY 3 mil per year is SO cheap, and excellent trade chip down the road

He looked really good for preseason game number 1.  But then again like every player we had looked good so it's probably just a product of playing Philly.

One thing Turner did that Green doesn't was he was huslting and playing with heart and with emotion. Unlike Green who normally sleepwalks his way to an uninspired 16 points

Hey, I'll take that. Last year we had what, 3, maybe 4 guys who could put up above average numbers on a bad team? Adding one to that mix just makes us better.

AB had a problem looking good against the D-LEague Allstars. If he wouldve been a unkown  training camp invitee, this game alone wouldve got him cut. I totally agree with you though. ITs one game. im just giving praised cuz its a step in the right direction. Im too excited to see how it translates when the season starts

I think he will be here for the long term. He needed a change a scenery. He is obviously a talented player

He has career averages of 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal per 36 minutes, and we are paying him about $3M a year.

Paul Pierce put up similar numbers last year for Brooklyn and was making closer to $10M a year.

Given the money he's making, how can anyone complain?  His signing was probably THE biggest steal of the off-season.  Not just for the Celtics, but out of the entire league.
