I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Are the cavs dumb? They could just cut these guys without giving up the 2nds then cutting bogans anyways.

No way they are looking to add bogus

Why wouldn't they want him?  He's got a very valuable contract, especially in conjunction with Brendan Haywood's expiring contract next off-season.

They have no plans to cut him.

Bogans just might be the luckiest man alive, lol.

They would of had money freed without the trade. Unless you mean they need to use him for salary matching purpose for a trade of some sort

That's exactly right.  The Cavs aren't going to have cap room next off-season, and could be limited to the MLE.  However, with Haywood's and Bogans' non-guaranteed contracts, they could conceivably land a max-contract player if another team was looking to dump somebody (or potentially in a sign-and-trade).

Smart long term thinking by their GM.  Meanwhile, Bogans cashes in... again.

What am i missing?

Despite what LeBron said, they're looking to win a title this year.  Before this trade, Cleveland's backup 2 guard was going to be either Joe Harris or Matt Delavadova.  Bogans is a step up from that for a win-now team and they don't lose any salary flexibility.

even if the 2 picks are last in the draft, we would have had to cut Bogans anyway! Something is better than nothing if it's free! Bogans was sitting home chillin,  I'd rather have two last picks chillin than Bogans! 2 picks to add to a future trade is always nice. No one wanted Bogs' contract, this is good for us people!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Celtics will also get a $5.3 trade exception in trade with Cleveland. Dwight Powell has a guaranteed deal and will be in camp with Boston.

Bogans is seriously the luckiest athlete alive.
Another 5 million without lifting a finger.

Maybe the next team he plays for will sign him to another 3 year non guaranteed deal

Man, Bogans might actually wind up cashing the entirety of that $15.5 million contract, without contributing anything to a team beyond the contract itself.  This has gotta top Keith Van Horn's retirement present for sweetest deal ever.

LOL and an exception?!

That Nets trade is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

Seems Powell has a pretty sweet shooting stroke and is athletic.  Check this out:

So, final tally on the KG/Pierce trade:

2014 #1 from Brooklyn
2016 #1 from Brooklyn
2018 #1 from Brooklyn
2016 #1 from Cleveland (top-10 protected)
2015 Washington #2 (top-49 protected)
2016 Cleveland #2
2017 Cleveland #2
Right to swap 2017 #1s from Brooklyn

Tyler Zeller
Marcus Thornton
Gerald Wallace

We also picked up a small trade exception in the Washington deal, a moderate trade exception from Cleveland, and possibly somewhere else along the way.  Lastly, Marshon Brooks was packaged with Jordan Crawford for Joel Anthony and  a heavily protected Philly #1, which will end up turning into two more #2s.

So the initial reports said that he was potentially off to play in europe??  If he has a guaranteed deal is there a chance he might be on the roster this year?  Maybe assigned to Maine?  I didn't know much about him, but he does have some size and some upside.  Lots of young bigs now, Zellar, KO, Sully, Vitor, and now Powell.

Is a deal for Bass more likely now at all?  Probably not...
