I liked this article a lot. I love the part where it says Rondo will remember in February what you said to him Oct 10, and wants to know reasons why they do certain things and how it works. Basically in the NBA he gets punished for being far and away the smartest guy on the team.

Belichick loves smart players that remember everything and understand it all. It's like NBA coaches are exact opposite.

This is why he wouldn't get along with a guy like Doc Rivers that was obsessed with small ball and whose genius extended to telling Starbury "Be yourself" and telling people you don't need to work on defense, because you work on defense when you work on offense.

Rondo is a football player, he just doesn't doesn't play in a league.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Well yeah, if he became sorta like Logan Mankins and was making the 2nd most money on the team and was 32 and his play slipping....well yeah. BB wouldn't love him forever.

Belicheck would love him until he asked Rondo to take a pay cut and Rondo said no.

Also, from the article:
Quote
practically every NBA executive outside of Boston I've spoken to says Ainge has made Rondo available to them. Rondo, meanwhile, has repeatedly said how much he treasures being a Celtic, but he's never hid the fact that if the franchise doesn't want him he'd be OK going elsewhere.

The thinking seems to be that if a first-rate communicator such as former Celtics coach Doc Rivers and a disciplined veteran such as Ray Allen found Rondo aggravating at times—and they both did—it's almost a certainty they'll have trouble with him.

At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Hmm I wonder who is the off record former C's player that the article mentions? I am assuming someone who played here last years since they bring up Stevens' offense. So I'm thinking it's Humphries, Lee, or Crawford.

Unlike usual I totally agree with everything you just said. Totally fair.
