apparently everyone is trying that crack diet.

Sullinger just stopped doing steroids, obviously.

SUllinger stopped eating cakes

And perhaps toned it down to a single steak for dinner.

By the way, you really can't say much from this picture. The telltale spots for Sullinger were his armpits, waistline and arse -- and all of these are quite concealed here. But here's to hoping this is what it looks like it might be.
"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

Looks great. He seem to look like he shed some of that pounds.

Now if he can grow 3 more inches, he'll be great. C'mon Sully, drink more of them things called milk. If Giannis can grow, so can you. You at 7 feet will be a stud.

This all depends on how you see Sully's ideal playing weight.  Some see him as an undersized backup center in the NBA.  If that's the case, yeah, he wasn't THAT overweight.  However, I personally think his best chance at success in the NBA is to be a PF who can face up in the mould of Kevin Love, in which case, he needs to slim down SIGNIFICANTLY.  Go look at the before and afters of Love.  He came into the league like Sully.  Not fat, but above his ideal playing weight.  It wasn't until he had been in the league a few years that he really committed himself to completely remaking his body, and that is when he made the leap from quality player to superstar.  While I am not sure we will see the same trajectory for Sully, I think he should be following the same regimen.  Not just trying to get back to his playing weight from before the back injury, but to remake his body, so he can really play the PF spot in today NBA, where you need to be a lot more mobile.

good for sully, if he can drop just 20 pounds it'll make a big difference for him at this NBA level. i lost about 40-45 lbs in the last few years and at 32 i'm in the best shape of my life, you gotta cut back on the grains and the meat... and exercise is obviously key, though a lot of people are depressed, and their energy/motivation levels are low, and it's hard to get into that routine. i know that's how it was for me. i sometimes take creatine, as well as some natural (and legal!) mood-enhancing herbs, to give me the kick in the pants that i need to get off my butt.

I think Billz401 point isn't that Sully shouldn't slim down for the PF position -- just that he was sort of required to carry the extra weight this last year because he was being asked to bang with much bigger centers.   I think what seems unfair to some is for him to be criticized and the butt of jokes for that.

It is pretty clear from Sully's comments, his father's comments, Stevens' comments and the very fact that Sully is on this particular conditioning program that everyone is in consensus with you -- his future is probably better off at a lower weight, playing PF.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

I see Sully more as a Danny Fortson type of physique. That doesn't mean he shouldn't weigh more or stop trying to weight less.

Decreasing his weight will help Sully's back/spine.

Yeah, seriously. Just because a former player had minor success as an overweight player doesn't mean that's the best projectory for Sully.

I also get that Sully was probably expected to be a bit more of a banger last year, but the problem people had with him was that he was in the 260s during the season and in the 280s (reportedly) several weeks after the season - this is not okay.

Sully probably is 'big-boned', but he could probably drop another 30-40 pounds and really be a skilled, athletic specimen.

This!  I agree completely with Chris.
