I just can't hardly get my head around how George reacted so little to the pain. He must be as tough a guy as you could ever imagine. His leg went 90 degrees laterally mid lower leg, with expected breaks and he never yells and stays calm while they move him. Holy cow!

It appeared that way, but I believe it was more a symptom of being in shock. ESPN interviewed Kevin Ware who reacted similarly and he confirmed he was in shock and didn't experience the pain until he was in the ambulance. The body goes into protection mode under severe pain and duress, not to mention the adrenaline rush.

is that right I thought a minute after dude would have to be in pain but you're probably right I know someone who got stabbed and they said there isn't any initial pain at all

i also knew someone like that, he did actually just freak out after seeing blood from the wound he wasn't aware he was stab initially.
