I can see Marcus Smart being a lot like Lance Stephenson, without the jumper (to start, anyway), but he is not Joe Dumars. Dumars was one of the best shooters of all time, who also entered the league with that skill. He was such a good ball handler as well. I'm just saying - don't underestimate or undervalue Joe D. He was an awesome player.
As for Young, I heard Jalen compare him to Mo Pete on draft night, as undoubtedly many of you have, as well, but Young can already take it to the basket. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember Peterson being exactly adept at getting to the hoop. Not that he couldn't do it, but he was just more of a shooter. Man, he used to kill us. Very clutch, as well.
Anyway, nbadraft.net compared Young to Michael Redd at one point, presumably because they're both left-handed shooting swingmen

I didn't see Redd play in college, but we all know how great and how complete of a scorer he was in the NBA until his knees gave out, inexplicably. I wish that we would have signed him for 11-12, but I digress. I really don't see the comparison. At least, not yet. Can Young score in the post and come off of pin downs, etc, like Redd could? I'm just trying to be realistic.
