maybe getting back a 2nd for the one we just lost in the Zeller deal?

That 2nd rounder was one of those top-55 protected picks Ainge got from Sacramento a few years ago, I believe.

At the very least, he'll get one of those back. Could actually be a "real" 2nd rounder.

I wish Kris nothing but the best in Washington. I really liked his play (not so much his salary) here. He played hard every play. That's about all you can ask.

There's always one team that looks stacked each year that doesn't even come close to living up to their potential, but I really hope that's not the Wizards this year. I like that team a lot. They've got arguably the most exciting backcourt in basketball, a solid front line, and not to mention my favorite player in NBA history. Man, i'll be pulling hard for Washington this year, and I think they have a real shot at making it out of the East. They have a really balanced roster of Wiley veterans and young studs. I'd love to see Garnett get bought out and join that squad for a playoff run...

Wall/ Miller
Beal/ Webster
Pierce/ Porter
Nene/ Humphries
Gortat/ Garnett

As a DC resident, I'm rooting for the Wiz to make a charge this year.  I expect to go to a few games to cheer on The Truth.  Of course, I also hope they'll finish with the 2 seed and the Celtics will make the playoffs as the 7 seed and knock them out.

Also, the sign-and-trade apparently isn't that far along in negotiations:

Boston's had only prelim talks on sign-and-trade, but appears willing to take on exception to ease Wiz deal w/ Humphries, source says.

4,5M$ TE not usefull.

Add Joel Anthony and get 8,5M$ TE.

That's the deal.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if it was a real asset. Teams sometimes do it for the fake ones just for the TPE but Ainge hardballing them into something real wouldn't be out of character.

Kind of wish Danny could expand this and bring back Porter.   Crap,  they've got ton's of firsts and jeff green.   Do something fun for my amusement.   Anything better than watching Green play again.   Mofo's should pay me the 200 bucks for the nba package trotting out that zombie.

You prefer starting Gerald Wallace?

Maybe we could send some of our non guaranteed contracts with Humphries to get a big TPE. Something like Humphries, Bogans, Johnson and Babb for a second rounder we never see. Which could give us a $10+ MM TPE.

I would also take a flier on Seraphin if he was willing to play for the QO.

Especially since the TPE isn't super useful to the Celtics right now.  They still have one from Courtney Lee, and the walking TPE that iis Keith Bogans.  $4-$4.5 million in a TPE isn't anything all that special -- it's useful, but not enough to in and of itself be worth making another team better.

if you don't want green, what makes you think another team wants green?

People who complain this much about Green don't usually look that much at realistic alternatives.

That's exactly how the rules work. If the Wizards have enough in their TPE to absorb both Humphries and Anthony, then we will end up getting a TPE equal to their combined salaries. You can do this if the Wizards would agree (I doubt it).

#1: You get an individual TPE for each player, so doing that would give us just a TPE for Hump's salary, one for Bogans, teeny ones that don't matter for Babb and Johnson.  Also the Wiz don't have room to absorub Hump and Bogans.  They have $8.5 million in their own TPE.

#2 You can't trade for a player's qualifying offer, nor can he be signed-and-traded for his offer sheet.  The Celtics would have to sign him to a 3-year deal for his QO amount for that to work.
