Free agent Danny Granger has agreed to a two-year, $4.2 million deal with the Miami Heat, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

This is the Bi-Annual exception.  Combined with the McRoberts deal earlier reported, Miami is now limited to the minimum salary for any free agents other than their own (unless the Big 3 break up).

Scrambling and Gambling - Miami are right now. Riley desperately trying to make any type of low budget moves he can to convince Big Three to return.

I think Granger is a lateral move from Rashard Lewis. Similar players. PF/SF. Spot up shooters.

I think this is a good move on their part. Was surprised we did not hear more Danny Granger rumors before now.  How is his health? Did not do much with the Clippers.

Granger will take the bi-annual exception with Miami, and hold a players option on the second season, source tells Yahoo.

The Heat went from talking about Lowry or Carmelo to McRoberts and Granger?

Ouch.

Yup.

Might work, but man oh man this isn't he sort of upgrade LeBron was looking for when he opted out.

Not if Wade and Bosh agree to pay cuts.

Would anyone sign with the Heat without knowing Lebron is coming back? I mean there probably wasnt much of a market for Granger, but I doubt MIA is paying top dollar.

Overpay = Granger worth minimum contract. Not $2 million. Miami do not have much salary to throw around on supporting cast. This was wasteful.

Yeah Lowry! Deng! Melo! Ariza! Er will you take a McBob/Granger combo?

Sounds like a college freshman downgrading his date plans after he discovers he can only get $20 from the ATM.

BIG paycuts.

I don't see that happening to land such paltry pieces.

I'm going to give Riley a call. I'm sure I can do something.
