 Spencer Hawes           - big no

Spencer Hawes is a very decent player. 13, 8, and 3 with 1.6 threes a game? He would fit really well here.

He's the second best player on that list too.

Spencer Hawes is underrated IMO. He can log in 20-25 valuable minutes (sometimes 30) and he can score at a rate of 10-15 points, get 7-10 rebounds per game at that time span, and he can hit threes which is another valuable asset. His three point FG % was 45, which is not bad. This wouldn't be a bad signing at all for the Celtics.

He probably negates most of that with some matador defense.

Eh that's true, but with Brad Stevens and his defensive schemes maybe Hawes could learn with the system and become a better defender with the celtics. I think Hawes honestly would be a backup plan for the C's and they may be after Jordan Hill or Monroe now.

I like Monroe and am a fan of Spencer Hawes.... Wouldn't mind Jason Smith, Ehpe Udoh, or Kyle O'quinn for the minimum...

The celtics approach should be: Resign Humphries for cheap, then go after Monroe or Okafor.

I'd take Hill, think he can be a 10/10 guy with good D, the league is getting more athletic at the center position we need to keep up with it. On top of that I don't think he will be cheap but he will be a fair price that helps fill out the roster.

what about a 23 year old center who has had some amazing games and can improve. His name is  john henson and he costs 1.9 million dollars. he averages 11 points a game, 7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks. he is a true rim protecter. the bucks are looking to trade him for a mid first round pick.
he is not a starter so if his stats look a little low it's because he hasn't played a starter minutes.

John Henson for the 100th time is not a center.

He is like 5 years away to put on enough pounds to play center part time

Actually, the article says that Henson would likely bring back a mid-1st round pick, if the Bucks were to move him on Draft Night.

Quote
Young forward John Henson, who has shown flashes of being a top-flight player, is also available and some Bucks insiders claim the team’s new owners — Marc Lasry and Wes Edens — have given their blessing to possibly trading young point guard Brandon Knight, arguably the team’s best player.

Both Henson and Knight undoubtedly would bring back at least a mid-first round pick, if the Bucks desired to move them.

They didn't.

Nowadays It is really to find a real center. he a real rim protecter. Which is what the celtics really need.
ESPN calls him a center.

Call them power forwards, and call Olynyk and Sullinger centers.  Who cares?  We need athletic, shot blockers like John Henson and Ed Davis.

If they want a first rounder, give them the Clippers pick next year

The best center for our team is not coming through free agency, it will be through a trade or the next draft.

Well, we definitely need someone at the center spot.  Anyone, really.  However, we're not yet at the point of needing to find that 'missing piece' because we're not a player or two away from being a contender.

Anyway, among free agent centers I'd like Okafor, Oden, and Aldrich.  Of those 3, Aldrich is probably the only one who would actually come here unfortunately, but beggars can't be choosers; we're desperate haha.  We should also look into Alex Oriakhi and Roscoe Smith, imo (and no, I'm not trying to recreate the UCONN title team haha).  Smith is at least an excellent rebounder who is probably a sf in the NBA.  Eh, what do I know?
