actually I think it helps the Celtics a WHOLE lot. Why? that TPE can only be used from July 10-12.  I think longer Melo and the cHeat guys wait, then the better for the Celtics. I would assume that these guys would make their decision sometime early next week which could open the door for the Celtics to propose trades on July 8-9 and completing on July 10-12.

thoughts?

No idea where else to put this:

Teams and agents agree: Outside of role players now, the market is frozen until Miami's free agents and Carmelo Anthony make decisions.

Why this matter for teams not pursuing melo or lebron

Stephenson S&T?  Hibbert?  Green and Hibbert may be close from their GTown days...perhaps we would be the right place for Hibbert to stay motivated....

I say "No, thanks" to Hibbert. He was awful for most of the series against Miami, on defense as well as on offense. I've got no confidence in him.

It's the domino effect.  For example, if Melo, Bron or both decide to go to the Lakers, getting Love suddenly might be a much higher priority for the Warriors.  If Melo stays in New York, Houston would become much more interested in Love.

It's actually surprising that Gortat, Lowry and Bradley signed as early as they did.  Each could have been in line for more money if none of the bigger names switch teams.

PG - Marcus Smart
SG - Avery Bradley
SF - Jeff Green
PF - Jared Sullinger
 C - Roy Hibbert

I gotta say, that is a pretty good team.
Could be a good team or a bad team.  So much would be determined by how good Smart actually is, and if Sullinger gets in shape, gives up the 3's, and improves his game.

If Hibbert is the only allstar or borderline allstar, it's not that great of a team.

It's a gamble, but then again, everything is. If Hibbert is available, it may not be a bad idea to roll the dice and hope that last season was a fluke.

Any deal involving Rondo to Phoenix needs to involve Wallace to Phoenix, as well as a pick.

Love how so many still trying to give Rondo to Ind when they want Dragic.  The only trade that makes sense is

Phoe gets Rondo
Ind gets Dragic
Celts get Hibbert

There may also be picks involved but I'm not getting into all that.  Of course, an alternative to Hibbert would be Stevenson, which I would not be all that happy about.

Don't think they take Wallace when they are going to have to give Rondo the max or close to it next year. Would they even be able to fit that under the cap in 15-16 season?

C's - Stephenson via S&T (probably look to add a pick or two from Indy as well)
Pacers - Dragic
Suns - Rondo

I actually like the versatility, size, and toughness that a 3 guard rotation of Smart, Stephenson, and Bradley can provide. Bradley and Stephenson are both only 23 and will only continue to improve. All 4 will be locked in for at least the next 4 years, so roughly 22m spent on all 3, which is reasonable especially when considering the max, or near max, deal Rondo will look to receive next summer.

I also think that the only reason Bird would bring Ainge in to the 3 team deal is because he knows he has, or has had, interest in Stephenson. Conversely, the Suns probably have none in him.

can we just leave Wallace on someone's doorstep? I don't care who, just anybody.

I don't know -- that was a totally emotional agreement. They have 37 million right now, so if a trade were to happen I think they should be ok.

I think the framework of a Rondo to Suns, Hibbert to Celtics, and Dragic to Pacers is the logical one. However, I think it has to be tweaked slightly for Indiana to do it and that would be to add Plumlee to Indiana and Mahinimi to Suns. Otherwise, Indiana would be completely naked at center and no longer an Eastern Conference Championship contender. Phoenix would now have Mahinimi, Len, and maybe Okafor again depending on price and medical evaluation. I am just wondering if Phoenix now says yes? I think Boston and Indiana would.
