I doubt anything would involve Hibbert. Indy isn't going to sell low on him and he is too important to how they play.

I would imagine a deal would involve Stephenson now that he reportedly wants more then indy is offering. I don't see him as a fit now that Smart is here and AB just signed. So that means 3 team. If it is phoenix they also don't have many pieces that seem to fit. Bledsoe or Dragic fall into the same poor fit match that Stephenson does. Unless the deal is built around  picks with a fourth team taking Gragic/Bledsoe and a player from that fourth team coming to boston? Maybe Len is involved to Boston but he is a project and not the high end return DA seems to be looking for.

Indy gets: Rondo

Indy sends out: Lance (S&T)

Phoenix gets: Lance

Phoenix sends out: Dragic + 1st

Boston gets: (??) + 1sts

Boston Sends out: Rondo

Question is where does Dragic go and who could the Cs get??

-Sac is an obvious option but they have little to add to the trade to entice boston

-Bucks would be my outside shock, they could offer up Henson who would start at Center

-Dallas would love Gragic but they do not have much to offer

-Detriot if the want to S&T Monroe and play 2 PG with Dragic and Jennings

cant see any other options. In the list above I prefer a deal with the bucks
invalid trade, Indy wants dragic , pheonix wants rondo, and Boston wants Bledsoe plus pheonix can't afford rondo+Bledsoe.

So your saying Indy moves Dragic and Bledsoe for Rondo? Who does indy give up and to where? The celtics just drafted Smart and signed AB to turn around and add Bledsoe who is likely a hybrid of both of them?
Mark stein said Indy wants dragic from pheonix. Maybe there's a 4th team for rondo .

Indy: dragic
phoenix: rondo
Boston: bledsoe + Indy future draft picks

or

Indy: dragic
phoenix: rondo + Indy filler
Boston: bledsoe + Indy future draft picks

Notwithstanding Stein's report that INDY wants Dragic (who doesn't?), I really doubt he is going anywhere. He is under contract for two more years and he was truly dynamic for that surprise Suns team last year.

Bledsoe, on the other hand, is a restricted free agent. I would think a straight up swap of Lance for Bledsoe might make sense for both teams - no need for BOS to get involved.

If Indy wants to parlay Bledsoe to BOS for Rondo, I would want a little more. Can IND trade next year's pick? Bledsoe, Mahinimi, and next year's 1st for Rondo? I'd think about it. Could be the best offer out there for Rondo.

Imagine the defensive havoc a three guard rotation of Smart/Bradley/Bledsoe could wreak? Of course, offensively the Celtics would continue to have spacing issues. There I go - just talked myself out of it.

Bledsoe actually shot 36% from 3 last year and nearly 40% the year before.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Maybe not...I've also seen tweets that Phoenix wants to "upgrade" at the PG position...Apparently, McDonough believes he can do better than Dragic...Maybe he believes that he'd be selling Dragic at an all-time high value. Rondo is likely the only PG that COULD be available that would arguably be an upgrade.

Obviously, the McDonough/DA relationship could help get a deal facilitated. Phoenix has plenty of pieces that are enticing if the C's are going full youth movement. If Bledsoe was a part of this deal, I'm not sure what that would mean for Smart/Bradley, etc. Maybe those young assets are turned into another bigger piece.

Celtics should go after Markieff Morris if they deal Rondo

Latest #Celtics-Clippers: Getting emotional, as it always does…. Celtics think Doc is playing both sides, advising Clips on who to offer.
— Mark Heisler (@MarkHeisler) June 18, 2013

This aligns with a report that says Doc was telling the Clippers not to send Eric Bledsoe because he wanted to coach him. Obviously playing both sides isn't the best look here, and probably the reason these talks hit a snag.

No...he wanted to trade him.

And he did.

We almost had Bledsoe before.

I'm just saying...everytime I see his name (Bledsoe)...I'm reminded to leave my sig alone.

Nobody was hearing me back then and most hated the Deandre Jordan option...how was his year? ???

Marc Stein: Indiana Pacers, I'm told, have tried to engage Phoenix in trade talks for Goran Dragic, but teams have found no common deal ground. Yet something to keep an eye on, though, with Indy known to covet an upgrade at PG and stubborn perception Suns can't afford Bledsoe AND Dragic. -

How about

Ind: rondo
Phx: green, watson, pacers 1st
Celts: dragic, copeland,  pacers 1st

I definitely think Rajon Rondo could be available. Drafting Marcus Smart and then pursuing Isaiah Thomas hard at 12:01 on July 1 were signs.

Danny Ainge personally called Isaiah Thomas, selling him on Boston and the idea of playing alongside fellow Tacoma-native Avery Bradley.

I don't really want Bledsoe.

Collecting players with redundant skillsets isn't useful. I'd rather fill in the holes than get a slashing combo guard who can't really shoot to put next to Marcus Smart... a slashing combo guard who can't really shoot (yet, hopefully).

Along the same lines, I'm becoming increasingly convinced that one of Sully and Olynyk should be moved.

Needs: consistent wing player, defensive and rebounding big man.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I think it would be something like:

Dragic+Bradley to Indiana

Lance stephenson+Plumlee+Warren to Boston

Rondo+Green+Olynyk+pick to Suns

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

If we gave up Rondo/Green/Bradley/Olynyk and a pick (maybe, don't know if that's supposed to be ours) and only got Stephenson/Plumlee/Warren in return I'd mail a dump-in-a-box directly to Danny.

I wouldn't be surprised if the rumor is half-true and Indiana is looking at the Celtics as a possible third team in a deal, but it doesn't involve Rondo and may involve use of the Celtics TPE.
