My guess is that Bird is offering Hibbert to teams, but I don't think he's worth Rondo or Dragic (Indiana's other reported target).  Hibbert is too flawed offensively, and seems mentally weak.

Pacers want championship runs right about now. Trading Hibbert sets them back another 2 years trying to get a center with better or equivalent talent. Hibbert is aging but didn't fall off. Pacers guards just got  shot happy. Especially Lance who is all gassed up since he started finding his game

Hibbert's 27, he should be just entering his prime.  He just had a huge slump late season that seemed as much mental as anything else.

OH snap he's only 27? I might consider giving up Rondo for him at this point.

I deffinetely agree with you, Roy's slump was deffinetely a mental problem that he made seem his team wasn't helping out with

Hibbert quote "Not getting the looks i want on the offensive end. For now, Ill just worry about winning Defensive player of the year"

Well, it's hard to have a lot of confidence in a guy offensively when he's shot 44% from the field the past two seasons.  And, it's not his teammates fault that Hibbert averaged 5.5 rebounds in the playoff, including games where he could corral a single board.

A center who is bad offensively, decent on the boards, mentally fragile, and on a big contract are not the players you trade your best player for.  If we wanted Hibbert's skill set, we would have traded for Asik.

While I agree to nix trading for Hibbert for the reasons you state, to equate his skill set to that of Asik is pretty off base. Asik is almost exclusively a defensive center and decent rebounder with no offensive skills, while Hibbert has offensive repertoire, but not nearly the defender as Asik.

I think Hibbert has that type of trade value. I wouldn't value him that highly personally but I am confident there will be a few GMs out there who would give Indiana that type of value for Hibbert in a trade. 7 foot 2 center, DPOY, two way player (even if inconsistent offensively). I am sure quite a few GMs would give big ransoms for that type of big man.

The suns can't afford to keep Bledsoe AND Rondo, so Bledsoe would be on the move for sure.

Indy: dragic
phoenix: rondo
Boston: bledsoe + Indy future draft picks

even trade all around.

mark stein has specified that pheonix wants rondo and Indy wants dragic.

At the same time, he was the best defender on the best defense in the NBA for the last two regular seasons. I would trade Rondo for him (if we indeed have decided to trade Rondo)

Rondo to Indiana
Stephenson to Phx
Dragic and a pick to boston

I'd be ok with this as it's better return then the rumored sac deal.
But still less the full value for rondo.

The problem with this deal (as well as one I proposed) is why is Phoenix trading for Lance, when they can just sign him outright?  They need to be getting something that sweetens the pot for helping Indy get Rondo, and we need to get full value for Rondo at the same time.  Tough to see a deal working.

It's possible they want to use that space for someone else, probably a decent center.  But yeah, it doesn't quite add up.

They've got about $30 million in cap room, including Bledsoe's cap hold (although not including Channing Frye's).  They of all teams really shouldn't need to be dumping salary.

I doubt anything would involve Hibbert. Indy isn't going to sell low on him and he is too important to how they play.

I would imagine a deal would involve Stephenson now that he reportedly wants more then indy is offering. I don't see him as a fit now that Smart is here and AB just signed. So that means 3 team. If it is phoenix they also don't have many pieces that seem to fit. Bledsoe or Dragic fall into the same poor fit match that Stephenson does. Unless the deal is built around  picks with a fourth team taking Gragic/Bledsoe and a player from that fourth team coming to boston? Maybe Len is involved to Boston but he is a project and not the high end return DA seems to be looking for.

Indy gets: Rondo

Indy sends out: Lance (S&T)

Phoenix gets: Lance

Phoenix sends out: Dragic + 1st

Boston gets: (??) + 1sts

Boston Sends out: Rondo

Question is where does Dragic go and who could the Cs get??

-Sac is an obvious option but they have little to add to the trade to entice boston

-Bucks would be my outside shock, they could offer up Henson who would start at Center

-Dallas would love Gragic but they do not have much to offer

-Detriot if the want to S&T Monroe and play 2 PG with Dragic and Jennings

cant see any other options. In the list above I prefer a deal with the bucks

PG - Marcus Smart
SG - Avery Bradley
SF - Jeff Green
PF - Jared Sullinger
 C - Roy Hibbert

I gotta say, that is a pretty good team.

Except for the fact that Pacers dont trade anyone away in that scenario!!  ;)

Or a double sign and trade involving Lance Stephenson and Eric Bledsoe

Indiana: Rondo
Phoenix: Stephenson
Boston: Bledsoe

Phoenix gets a true two guard in Lance Stephenson to play alongside Goran Dragic. Boston gets younger replacement for Rondo in Eric Bledsoe . Indy upgrades PG spot with Rondo. Boston would probably have to get some picks to make it worthwhile for them. Maybe Indiana throws in two late 1sts.

invalid trade, Indy wants dragic , pheonix wants rondo, and Boston wants Bledsoe plus pheonix can't afford rondo+Bledsoe.

So your saying Indy moves Dragic and Bledsoe for Rondo? Who does indy give up and to where? The celtics just drafted Smart and signed AB to turn around and add Bledsoe who is likely a hybrid of both of them?

I gotta say, that is a pretty good team.

Plus a lot of future draft picks to use to add to that core which is already pretty young or trade for immediate talent if the opportunity presents itself.
