Step 1:
Trade Jeff Green to Atlanta Hawks
Step 2:
Trade Brandon Bass to Charlotte Hornets
Step 3:
Decline all our team options (except rookies), and renounce everything (trade exceptions, bird rights, etc)
Step 4:
Stretch Gerald Wallace's contract ($4 million for 5 years)
Unless I did my math wrong, this should be able to leave us with about $25+ million of cap space to use this year (if salary cap estimates are correct)... unless I'm missing something that would prevent us from doing this.
Does Atlanta say no to adding Jeff Green to their squad? If they say no, would you include draft pick/picks?
Does Charlotte say no to adding Brandon Bass to their squad? If they say no, would you include draft pick/picks?
Who do you target? By my estimation, even if I'm not a fan of him, Carmelo Anthony is an intriguing target to add to our roster, particularly since you're left with no experience in the SF spot.
What do you think, is this an avenue worth exploring if it has even a 1% chance of happening?
What's preventing us from doing this? And if nothing is, would you go about doing it?
Of course, I'm not doing any of the above (except moving Brandon Bass part) unless I already have some sort of agreement with a free-agent.
