Nope. Nope nope nope. Too much. Smart will be able to do nearly everything Bradley does, and then some other stuff, for $3mil a year.

Don't like this.

And what should we do once he needs another contract?  Let him walk too?  Constantly stock a team of top 10 picks and be really cheap and let every veteran walk?

Some of you guys are very unrealistic about building teams and salaries.

I don't think a lot of us are being unrealistic. It would be less of a big deal if this were the only overpayed player on our roster but its the fourth. We have Bass at 6, Wallace at 10, Green at roughly 9 and now Bradley at 8. We have a bunch of overpayed role players before we acquired our star talent. Danny is building the team backwards IMO. Stars first, then fill in the role players around the, not the other way around.

Green and Bass are not even overpaid so we are not going to find an even ground on this I suppose.  Look around the league at what other players get paid.  I feel like you guys just don't do that?  I don't know how else to explain it.

Wallace is overpaid obviously and that's why he is one of the worst contracts in the league, which we inherited, and why he was in the trade with the Nets.

Then I guess we just have different opinions on what Green and bass are worth. I feel like Green is worth about 7 and Bass 5 or under. They're bench players.

Despite his drawbacks, Avery is underrated as a shooter and an off-ball offensive threat in general. Considering he's only 23 and may still improve, a 32M / 8yrs is deal not exactly hard to justify.

Underrated as a shooter? The only 2 shots he has in his arsenal is the corner 3 , and a pull up 15 ft J off the dribble . He is a horrible passer/playmaker , horrible at finish at the rim , and his defensive intensity isn't there like his first few years . Add to that all the injuries , and the amount of cap space this is taking up, this is just BAD IMO

What the?

Ridiculous overpay. Did another team even offer him a contract? Why wouldn't you wait for the market to dictate his value instead of overpaying for a redundant guard like what happened with Gerald Henderson. Very displeased and frustrated with this move.

Couldn't agree more, AB excels on defense, is an average shooter and is a terrible ball handler and rebounder.

I think Bradley is a better fit with Rondo than Smart.  Rondo needs the ball to much and neither at this point have a sting outside shot (Rondo and Smart that is).  AB and Smart are interchangeable on the defensive end while Rondo gave up on D three years ago.

If AB can stay healthy (I hate if's) it could be a nice fit...I really like AB's attitude.

If Jodie Meeks is getting 6.5 mil a year, and Livingston 5.3 mil a year, Bradley at 8 mil per year isn't completely outrageous.  Not a huge fan of how much we're paying given his health concerns though.

Ugh...

First there were "fireworks"

Then there were "sparks"

Now we just lit a match that went out on its own.

Yea it's been a big disappointment so far

LC's gotta be popping champagne.

8 million a year is more than I would have paid him, but with the cap rising and the fact that we're probably not going to bring in any blockbuster free agents, its ok. The Meeks deal basically ensured this one, at least to my eye.

I'm betting the Lance Stephenson market is dictating it too and we will see that.  Dude is going to get paid.

Don't remember who said it, but it looks like Ainge is going after the relatively fringe guys first -- nailing down AB before Stephenson signs, talking to BazedGod,etc.

So what I gather is everyone here thinks that every player is worth the league minimum unless you're a Superstar. Does that sound about accurate?

This is a good deal if we are planning on tanking the next 2 years and filling our roster with mediocre/overpaid players.

Luol Deng is one of the better all around players at his position - he should get around $12-13m easily. Still doesn't make Jeff Green's worth it.
