Haywood for Green is a sideways move at best, that would cost more money.  Just dumb.

Hayward for Green is a definite downgrade at the SF position.

Utah RFA Gordon Hayward is meeting with Cavaliers officials in Cleveland today, sources tell Yahoo. Offer sheet could be forthcoming.

"Hey Gordon."

"Hi guys."

"What'chya thinkin' 'bout?"

"Video games."

"Cool."

"Yeah."

"Wanna play for us?"

"I require more minerals."

Per Windhorst: 'Cavs believed to be preparing a max offer sheet for restricted free agent Gordon Hayward'.

Let the madness begin.....

It was predictable that there might be a team out there willing to give Hayward the max.  It was predictable that Cleveland would be a team willing to overpay to lure a free agent.

So that's two max contracts in Cleveland.

Does that mean they're going to put Wiggins at the 2? He's clearly a 3. OKC tried to put Durant at 2 and failed miserably.

No, that means they'll put Hayward at the 2, much like Utah did.

Hayward is too slow and un-athletic to be a 2. Good luck with that.

Exactly... people need to stop associating Hayward as a SF.

That's all good and fun, but he spent the entire last season playing next to Richard Jefferson, and that turned out just fine.

If they have both Wiggins and Hayward, they'll probably treat the two positions as interchangeable when they are in the game together.

He may not be a great defender, but he is pretty athletic. One of the best chase down block guys in the league.

I think he could grow into quite the complete player.

Edit: But I dont want him for this Celtics team :)

Exactly, and they will have Wiggins guard the quicker wing on defense.  Money aside, I think Heyward will be a nice addition for them on the court.  Now what do they do with Waiters?  Use him as a combo guard off the bench or trade him?
