I can't believe how much love Jordan Hill is getting? Did you guys watch him play for the Lakers last year? Or watch him any year before that? I see people getting pulled into the stats per minute trap, while Hill was putting up good numbers on a garbage team.
Pretty much like Jared Sullinger, right?

Yeah, you could say that. Sullinger has a lot more scoring skill though. But he is a good numbers bad team guy until proven otherwise.

We have learned that the rest of the NBA see him as a nice fat backup forward at this point.

When two garbage teams collide, someone usually gets an unexpected career high.

Also, for all the love that Drummond gets, he really is a terrible basketball player when compared to his hype. He will go into next season as the reigning captain of the all potential team.

Hopefully van gundy will turn him into something more than an excellent body.

i dont think highlight videos of a game prove anything. Sullinger had a career high vs. Cousins. Does this mean you wouldn't do a Sully for Cousins trade?

Anyway, while I do like Hill because of his hustle, physical play, and rebounding, I don't think he's a "legit" center or a rim protector. He can play center, sure, but he's more of a Wilcox-center, or a Kris Humphries-center. Basically, he plays center but is really a power forward. Oh well, that's the trend these days anyway.

If we can get him for MLE-ish money, i'd be happy.

we are talking about Drummond not Cousins who is a terrible defender.

What did KO and Sully combined do vs Drummond on most nights?? not alot. Drummond took care of all the rebounds, blocking shots, put back dunks/tip ins like it was a joke

The point is Hill with his quickness and 35 max vert won't allow that to happen.  Hill is a late bloomer and still could get better imo

most players would be crappy under a crappy team the lakers were last season. No structure and lineup changed almost on a nightly basis

Not saying Hill isn't a serviceable player. I think he absolutely deserved minutes last year, but just didn't fit too well with the D'Antoni system. I think he'll do well here.

My point is, a video of 1 game doesn't do it for me. I mean, I could post a video of Powe carving up the Lakers interior D and carrying the C's, in the NBA Finals no less. I'd much rather read or watch a scouting report/analysis, or statistics.

it's one game but he had many more like it. There is one vs Cousins, Celtics etc.

You try to find one game of Sullinger doing damage vs Drummond and you won't find one.   Drummond while not the smartest player around , usually doesn't not get beat on the boards and blocks shots left and right.

A broken clock is right twice a day, too.

Jordan Hill is exactly what's been posited -- serviceable.

After examining some footage of Hill (full games, not highlights) With Rondo facilitating and Sully helping him bang down low. I  think at  MLEish price he'd be an awesome pick up. He will help our players develop and wont be detrimental to the rebuild. Small chance he ends up part of the rebuild! maybe as our go to back up center in the future.

He's deffinetelthe BPA at the center position at 6 mill or less. (Please correct me if I'm wrong here)

ALSO DOES ANYONE KNOW IF WE HAVE  ANY TAKERS YET FOR GERALD WALLACE CONTRACT? AND WHEN IS IT OVER?

serviceable is a LOT better than what we've had at that position for YEARS now.  i can see the interest.  if we can land Hill at MLE type money for 3 years, he would be a great placeholder until we can get an upgrade at center to replace later.

Welp.

Mediocre would be an upgrade for us at Center. Sadly.

Who knows, maybe Colton Iverson will pan out as a defensive presence. I don't have a lot of faith though. He couldn't even make a bad team that was thin at his position last year.

So, yeah, I would go with a mediocre Jordan Hill for 6-8 m/y.

I don't see why people are so down on Hill. I'm not saying he's a superstar, but he's an above-replacement level player. He's a great rebounder, decent enough defensively, and scores efficiently around the basket. This is the exact type of player all of you had been clamoring for Danny Ainge to add around the Big 3 for the past half decade.
