Rondo is def worth 5 million a year more then Gordan Hayward and Chandler parsons. Neither all all stars, neither make an impact on the game like Rondo does. Yet they just got contracts that they will average a little around 13-15 million per year.
Rondo deserves a max contract of around 18-20 per. Now does our team need Rondo getting paid close to 20 mill per and be championship contenders?
Still hard to determine.
Using those contracts to try and justify a max for Rondo is kind of making the opposite of your point aswell.
Teams overpaid for those players. Another 5 million on top for Rondo is kind of overpaying aswell.
If rondo comes back to his form which is averaging a double double and having multiple triple doubles, there's no doubt he's worth 17-20 million per. Like I said it all setermines if we are going to be a contender the year after this one.
Danny is not paying rondo that if we cannot bring in a key piece and get rid of Gerald Wallace.
If we bring in a Marc gasol through free agency or a player of that nature, I can see us resigning Rondo to a 3 year deal 17 per average.

Rondo is not worth 17-20 million. He just isn't. If he gets back to form then 14-15 million I could live with, but more than that is a significant overpay.
