@ESPNSteinLine: Hawks can waive Salmons by Monday and pay only $1 million of veteran guard's $7 million salary next season. Raps get quality guard in return

Traded for Salmons contract, which I believe has $1M buyout. Very nice move by Ujiri. Pick up a very productive underrated player.

Wonder what ATL will do with the cap space....

@sam_amick: Can confirm Toronto has traded John Salmons to the Hawks for Lou Williams and Lucas Noguiera.

Noguiera also going to TOR

Clearing room for LeBron.  If they clear DeMarre Carroll, they'll be able to sign him outright at a max deal.  Not going to happen, likely, but LeBron needs an alternative to Miami for negotiations, and the Hawks could be an interesting option.

I would've liked it if Danny had done this trade for the non-guaranteed contracts of Bogans and Babb. We really need some rim protection and Nogueira played well in Spain last year. Hope DA's got a plan to get us a true center.

Masai Ujiri has World Cup fever. Bringing in Brazilians left and right.

The market seems to be set, an expiring contract and a prospect for non guaranteed deals. I wonder if this effects how much we will get for Bogans.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I like Lou as a sixth man, he's a better sixth man than AB.

Given that Ferry was the GM when LeBron left, I'm surprised ATL would even consider him considering them.

One wonders though if they might make a big run at Melo though. A Melo-Milsap-Horford frontline is impressive.

Agreed.  I've been campaigning for us to get him for a while.  His contract is about what "the market" dictates Bradley gets paid as well.

Perhaps, but at the same time, look at what Cleveland has done post-Ferry.  I'm not sure it's such a tough sell that their problems were due to Gilbert, not Ferry.  Horford and Millsap is a nice front line to keep James at the three most of the time.
