Not that this was unexpected, but I'll be curious how the dominoes will fall out.

I think Smart and Young drafting increases our leverage some.

Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Hopefully someone else beats our offer.

The Celtics organization has spent a lot of time developing Bradley. I don't mind if he goes somewhere else but I wish the Celtics could get something for it.

if the celtics can get bradley for $3.58 million a year, they should jump on it. bradley at that price is a good deal. but i expect another team, or teams, to overpay for him. that is fine too.

Give his minutes to Smart/Young. Use the money saved & sign Humphries.

Bradley gets 4.5 million from me...as long as we cut Bayless loose and/ or we add a guy like Melo, who would allow Bradley to be spot up guy.

That's about what he's worth. If someone wants to pay more, adios. Not really interested in tying up any more money in an injury-prone specialist.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Bradley still has upside. He's improved every year and his focus this summer will be to improve on his ballhandling and creating offense on pick and roll action. I would hate to miss out on that potential growth for what might be only a difference of 1M a year or so.

I keep hearing a lot of love for Humphries, but he might be the classic "contract year" guy. Look at what he did immediately following his big contract from the Nets.

I think this pretty much guarantees Bradley sticks with Boston for one more season.  Teams are really paying attention to how much the new salary cap rules punish you for overspending.  I can't see a decent team offering some unreasonable amount of money for Avery and I don't think at his age he's going to bolt for a 4 year deal on a crap team.

humphries was paid about $12,000,000 last season.

bradley was paid about $2,500,000 last season, which is $9,500,000 less.

not sure how to use savings from bradley to sign and keep humphries. but then again, i prefer the celtics to let humphries walk.

His focus should be being able to stay on the floor for over 70 games. Thats why he isn't getting that much love from the C's. That and he got greedy and turned down a good offer. He'd be making 6M a year if he would have taken the first one.

How exactly do you focus on staying healthy? It's not as though he's playing xgames or training MMA during his down time. I also don't think he was greedy, if anything he was taking the advice of his agent.
