Reaction pouring in from other 29 teams is mix of eye-rolling at Kidd, out-and-out laughter, shock even among cynics that he'd pull this.

Not sure anyone has manged to ruin his image as a saavy NBA player destined to be an NBA coach and executive more than he has in such a short time.  Winner of the 2014 Isaih Thomas award.

Why would Milwaukee want anything to do with Kidd?

Talk about an inflated self worth.  I've always despised Kidd.  Just an absolute punk.

My lord he wouldn't even make a good 1 A basketball. College coach,

Here is an prime example of a. "Name Brand"

Going after a name and not coaching talent or business smarts.

Dear Bucks ,

Go find a REAL coach

They ate just Loki g for a NAME to keep Parker happy ,   Somebody to suffer along with him , and keep his spirt up and keep him in Milwaukee .

Won't work ...... Need right owners and  talent.

I wonder what if any compensation would be.  I hope it's not a future Bucks number 1 pick.

I'm assuming it would be.  That's what Brooklyn should hold out for.

They will take 2nds. The alternative is to fire him or take him back.

I'd like to see them demote him to doing daily reports.

My understanding is that Kidd has a close relationship with one of the owners in Milwaukee. They asked permission to speak with him. Seems this has been set in motion by Mil and Kidd. He probably knew he would never get such control in Brooklyn but asked anyway as an excuse to leave. Just speculation on my part. Adding up the pieces.

I'd say it's more likely that he was on the outs already if you read the Woj piece.

this is bad news imo. kidd showed he wasn't ready to coach, much less be a head coach. I was looking forward to him having to coach a roster that might not be that good...on top of him being a bad coach.

I hear you, but look at it this way: KG and Pierce are still old, and Brook Lopez and Deron Williams are still injury prone. Not a lot of bright spots on that roster.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

supposedly Kidd was p---ed that the Nets didn't trade Lopez and Teletovich for Sanders and Ilyasova. Now he gets to run the Bucks, so I can see him keeping both of those guys in Milwaukee.

All things considered, I think Kidd did alright as a coach last season.

As the article states this is primarily about money and workload, not necessarily power. Kidd is jealous of the recent coaches who signed better deals than him even though he had no coaching experience when he was hired. He can't renegotiate his deal while with New Jersey but if he's released the contract can be ripped up. And by getting front office control he can eventually switch to a GM position which is a lot less work.

Despite his talent there's a reason why this guy switched teams so often. Milwaukee fans should be very very afraid.
