With Babbs and Johnson and two Rookie contracts they only have 2 slots. Johnson and Babbs are team option so could be as many as 4 Slots.

Assuming Bradley gets one. That only leaves room for a big. Humph is undersized, although if we trade Bass for a "real center" could easily see bringing him back.

Melo and Lebron sign for $5 million each so that they can win a championship together.  We'll still have cap space to sign a rim protector.

I want a backup PG and a starting C.

Gortat has been mentioned but I am not wild about about giving him a big contract. I think he has started to decline already and I am worried how well he'll hold up through a 4 year deal. Not much quality beyond Gortat though. Okafor looks the next best option. Missed last season with injury but he was pretty good the year before. Okafor could be a good option on a one year deal. Help Boston get to next summer when more talented centers are available. Only a limited pool of centers available this summer. Next best options - Chris Andersen, Spencer Hawes, Jason Smith.

The backup PG. I want an actual PG. Farmar. Ridnour. Sessions. Udrih. Nate Robinson might be worth a 2nd chance. Nate might fare better with Coach Stevens than he did with Doc. Yeah I could sell myself on Nate being 1st option here. His scoring ability, shooting ability and can drive to the basket. I would love to have a backup PG who can get into the paint off the dribble and make jump-shots (like JJ Barea).

-----------------------------------------------------

No interest in keeping Babbs or Chris Johnson. Waive them.

Bradley depends on the price tag. If Bradley walks, then the team would need a SG as well. A minimum contract SG. Probably a shooter. Like Morrow or Meeks or someone like that.

----------------------------------------------------

PG - Rajon Rondo, (free agent), Pressey
SG - Marcus Smart, Avery Bradley or (free agent), James Young
SF - Jeff Green, Gerald Wallace
PF - Jared Sullinger, Kelly Olynyk, Brandon Bass
C - (free agent), Victor Faverani, Joel Anthony

One roster spot left over. Depends on whether Ainge can trade Bass or not. If Ainge can trade Bass, then a combo forward type who can defend both SF + PF and bring speed to the table would be preferable. If Bass stays, maybe another shooter (SG/SF) should be priority. Even a small one (SG/PG) like Fredette since James Young is big enough to play some SF minutes if necessary.

Marcus Smart can be backup PG but ...

I am worried about offensive balance with Smart (PG) alongside Bradley/Young (SG) J.Green/G.Wallace (SF), one of the PFs and what will likely be an unskilled center. Not enough offense in that lineup. Especially if J.Green isn't on the floor. Smart will be asked to do too much. To create too much.

If Celtics had better offensive wings, I would be happy with this option. Or talented center. But they have neither and it is unlikely that changes for next season. So I would like to see an extra ball-handler / creator in the backcourt alongside Smart (or Bradley) when Rondo sits. A backup PG.

It's really hard to say because we have the 10 mil TPE, Bogan's non guaranteed contract(Johnson Babb & Pressey to a lesser extent) Bass plus Anthony's expiring contracts to use in trades.  I could see taking on dead weight for a year or 2 to get another pick( like Jeremy Lin).  I would like to see Humphries re-signed but that's only if we can move Bass.

Still have some hope for a Love trade.  Maybe Bass, Sully, Bogan's contract, S&T Bradley & future picks could get things rolling again.

He'll turn 31 next season.  He should certainly hold up for at least the first 3 years of a 4 year deal.

SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas

Gortat, Monroe, Josh Smith.

I'd be thrilled with either of those players as a major upgrade over our current situation.

As a 'second tier' move if things get more desperate, I'd be happy to take a chance on Okafor.  We could use his toughness, defense and rebounding. Plus he's capable of contributing a little on offense too.

I'd love to get Nate Robinson back as someone mentioned, think he would play well in brads system. Also if we can trade away Green I think parsons could be a good pickup depending on the price. Brook Lopez if the rumors are true the nets are looking to trade him could be something to look at. If Rondo wants out I could see possibly doing a deal with the pacers that would send us Roy Hibbert.
