I completely agree. It's incredible that a guy like LaVine goes almost 20 picks ahead of his wildly superior and uniquely intelligent and skilled teammate.

There's a reason the Spurs have racked up the 50-win + seasons consistently.

People are going over the top with this in my opinion.

Anderson is nice, and he fell to the Spurs.
I think Harris is a steal at 19 and Vonleh at 9 is too.

Spurs just got a guy with less 'upside' than alot of the teams before them. He'll contribute quickly but what's his ceiling?

Anyway, not a huge steal in my opinion but still nice to get him there at the end of the first round.

Man I thought that Lavine going so quickly was really a stretch.  He was bad in the last 6-8 games of the year for UCLA.  He didn't give them much at all in the tourney.  He played well earlier in the year against lesser teams.

This is only a good pick for the spurs because they know how to utilize him.  The Diaw comparisons are good but look how terrible Diaw looked in certain offenses.  I don't think he's one of the top 5 because there would have to be a lot of busts for that to happen.

I agree 100%.  In a draft where there are so many good players in the 7-15 range why not choose someone who will help your team and be more of a sure thing?  Minn is just the own worst enemy.  Draft smart, get what you can for Love, and get on with it.  Unfortunately, they will do none of that.

This after they struck out on a "homerun" 2 guard last year.  This franchise blamed McHale for a lot even though he drafted the one player of value the team has. 

I think all GM's are allowed to try to get that big fish but at that pick they should've taken one of the many solid players left on the board or traded the pick to someone competent.
