My favorite part about watching Simmons over the last couple years has been watching his "regular guy" angle conflate with the fact that he's now a millionaire who covers sports.

I think he does a pretty good job at coming across like a genuine fan (though he seems to lean more in the pessimistic reverse-jinx side of fandom) while he is forced into situations where he interacts with legendary players.   I'm still a fan of Simmons.

Me too. When he's on his game, I like him a lot -- I just think he's had a lot of trouble maintaining the same level of genuine enthusiasm recently.

 And, personally, I don't enjoy him nearly as much on podcasts or on TV as I do when he's (writing well) in print, so his shift towards that stuff is kind of a bummer.

Or it's just true that Embiid is indeed a series of crumbling bones stuffed inside a skin suit.

I'm still not certain how everyone can get excited and hope that all these other teams doctors say not to draft this guy so that we can get him.  It's like hoping everyone passes on the ugly girl at the bar so that you can take her home at 2 am, people passed for a reason.

i like how whenever news or tidbits come out thats a bit of downer for what direction we actually want the team to go in, we just chalk it to being a smoke screen or one of Dannys tactics.  There have been times where the celtics feelings on players have been leaked and they were true and not some signature Danny Ainge maneuver.

Danny is the shadiest of GMs though, and we all love him for that.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it too much.  Either Boston ends up with a scrub at #6 or takes Embiid ... who promptly ends up the poor man's Greg Oden.  I also wouldn't rule out us trading #6 for someone established... like Harrison Barnes.  Kinda like the Bassy Telfair trade in 06.  That worked out really well for us.
