Given what Orlando just did with the Affalo trade, its looking more & more like Philly might be the only obstacle standing between the Celtics and an opportunity at Embiid.

I'd be most fearful of Philly trading into that top slot to get their guy in Wiggins then CLE nabbing Embiid at #3.

Except other teams could trade up with Orl and Utah and swipe him up in front of us. Which is what we hope to do to the Lakers, swipe Embiid right before they pick, if not trade up ourselves.

Like, we give PHI 6 and 17, and they give us 3 and a decent second rounder.

Well, if Philly takes him, it's likely one of Exum/Smart will be available at 6.  I'd take that as a consolation prize.

76ers are probably torn between exum and embiid right about now.

A good chance Danny will take embiid at 6. Danny has never been shy to draft guys with health question marks

If the draft turns out to be

Wiggins
Parker
Embiid
Exum
Smart

Look for the celts to draft Randle imo. If Vonleh gets drafted in the top 5, still the Celts to take Randle.  If Embiid drops, i would bet money danny takes embiid and makes a safe pick at 17

not certainly. Exum and Smart go 4 and 5 then.  If its between randle and smart danny will take Randle imo.  Hard to obtain quality PF/C later in the draft

Well, yeah.  I've certainly made it known on here that I'm not enamored with drafting Embiid if he's available at #6. 

Just pointing out obstacles for those who would want him.
