If the Rockets are looking to acquire both Melo and Lebron, couldn't we unload enough cap space to absorb Harden in a trade?

Talk about a win-win for both teams.

Why would that be a win for us?  If the goal is to get to the playoffs...Go for it.  If your goal is to get anywhere once you get there...Your highest paid player needs to play some semblence of defense.  Harden doesn't.

I object to your discussion of Harden. Defense is a word that should never be used in the same sentence with certain players. Harden is one of those players.

(Yes it was hard to write that little paragraph and avoid hypocrisy.)

Actually - you did not use that player's name in the same sentence as the word defense. Well done. I apologize.

But still - let's make this a Celticsblog rule. There is a word that can be never used in the same sentence as James Harden. That word is defense.

What's the package you propose for Harden?

What's the package you propose for Harden?

Dealing Houston all our non-guaranteed deals and then finding another team with cap space (like Philly) that can take a couple of our guaranteed contracts like Bass and Joel Anthony.

Then the Rockets find another suitor for Jeremy Lin's deal and they have enough cap space to go after Lebron and Melo.

I would imagine we would be the other suitor taking on Lin using our TPE. Wasn't there some buzz about the pick Hou received in the Pelicans deal being up for grabs for whoever takes Lin? Count me in for that deal.

Why is this any better for Houston than just dealing Harden for Melo when the time comes, and signing Lebron first with the available cap space?

The package could be S&T Bradley and tpe for Harden

they get a defensive 3 point shooter who can help lebron and dwight howard defend and gives them the cap space to sign lebron and melo

we do it because we need a star and harden would be great for our offense. however we would need to get a definsive sf to make up for harden. Wait couldn't that be Aaron gordon. Wow, so easy how everything is coming together.( I a teenager so just go with the sarcasm)
