Excitement about what?  Getting Love is an unlikely scenario.  Embiid isn't falling out of the Top 4.  Boston probably decides to hang onto Rondo.  THere's potential for stuff to happen, but it's foolish to expect it.  Lots of scenarios will be considered tomorrow, but the most likely scenario remains Boston keeping #6 and #17... and getting someone like Gordon with their top pick.  It'll be fine, though.  Whoever Danny takes at #6 will probably be a solid prospect.  Ainge knows what he's doing.

I'm in the camp of acquiring enough talent to make the playoffs next season and having the cap flexibility and assets to jump from likely first-round exit to possible contender if it's not possible to make the moves to contend immediately next season.

Love or no Love, I think the Celtics are in a good spot to acquire some of the pieces for a contender now and the rest a year from now and you don't have to acquire a superstar first as part of the long-term plan.

For me, if our young players develop enough throughout the season and we make the playoffs that'd be fantastic. However, if we just acquire enough decent players to make a low seed in the weak east and our young guys don't see much run/progress all that much I'd have to consider the season a failure or waste.

This isn't going to be an easy rebuild, it might have been with love but without him I think we have to take the long road.

This would be disappointing.  Going from having the most picks and assets in the league and summer of Love in Boston ( which raised everyone's hope) and Rondo recruiting to not making any move at all.  That would suck.

That was the best deal Mchale could get from anyone. If he did this to help a friend, than he should be fired.
