A lot of people have guys in mind that they want the Celtics to draft.  Guys who you think are better or will be better than the experts say.  Whether it's a top 5 player or to 50 player.  Who is your binky?

Mine is Stauskas.  He's not a worldly athlete, but I think he will be a very good shooting guard for a long time.  The knock against him is his lack of athleticism, but I think he'll do fine defensively.  He can handle the ball, play a little point guard as he did last year, and play off the ball.  He can pick his spots to drive and is a world class shooter.  He reminds me of a post bone spur Ray Allen... Basically the guy we traded for in 2007.

Jarnell Stokes

The kid is a beast in the low post like Sully, but he is all muscle . A very good passer for a big man, and he has some good moves on offense

I want him if we get another pick later in the draft

If we hang on to our draft pick, I'd like us to use it on Marcus Smart.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Don't have any... but I'm intrigued by a 3-man rotation of Rondo-Bradley-Smart. I kinda also think that a pairing of Green and Gordon could be good, lots of atheism and defense.

So with the 6th pick, those seem to be my top two choices unless something weird happens and someone drops.

I'm not opposed to gambling on Embiid, but I rather not... but that's for the medical staff and Danny to decide. I'll trust their evaluation on that regard, but that's my extent of it and hope for the best.

I've liked Stauskas since I saw a work out video of him shooting 100 3's and I think he hit all but 1, or maybe even all of them. He's more athletic than people give him credit for, and he create space for his shot with the dribble. So I think he'll be able to play at the next level.

I like Hood a lot too for some reason. Watching Duke for Parker this season, I thought Hood kept them in a lot of games. He's not great at one things, but has every shot from 3 point line and in. A less defensive Scottie Pippen.

I also like GR III.  He's very athletic and has good size.  His father was also the Big Dog.  If we got a late 1st and drafted him, I'd be psyched.

As far as semi-plausible scenarios... Embiid has to be the guy.  But I don't think we can get him without trading up.

Payton. Get him at 6, then trade Rondo and Wallace to SAC for 8th pick, McLemore, and the shortest junk contracts they have (Williams, Terry, etc etc) and take Randle. ]

All day.

Why get him at 6 when he might even be there at 17? Doubtful, but no way he goes top 10.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Jusuf Nurkic.

I really think he'll be a starting quality Center who can average 14 points 8 rebounds per game, at worst.

He's big, strong, quick enough for his size and fairly skilled already at 19 years. He'll develop into a Center who can start for any team IMO.

I like Gary Harris a lot but I think it'd be a reach selecting him at 6
