Smart or Embiid

Smart has been compared to Dwyane Wade and Embiid to Olajuwan

Right potential
Head case and life cripple

Smart is not a head case. One incident of shoving an obnoxious fan who was shouting racist insults does not make someone a head case. He's a good teammate and a great competitor.

Does Sullinger's domestic assault charge make him a head case?

I don't know enough about potential draftees (even the top ones) to confidently state what I would consider a bad draft night.  I will go into the draft with what I think I want, but will adjust happily to whatever Danny decides is correct.

That said, all the anticipation of an exciting night and off-season goes into a tailspin if rumors of Lebron to the Lakers stay alive.  The prospect of the Lakers picking up LBJ and possibly Melo makes me sick and I want the possibility of this to be over as soon as possible.  So if this rumor is strengthened on draft night, I'll have a bad night.

Bad - Gordon
Worse - LaVine or Anderson
Worst - Trade Rondo for #8 and crap = years wandering through lottery-land.

1-Joel Embiid
2-Andrew Wiggins
3-Jabari Parker
4-Marcus Smart
5-Dante Exum
6-Aaron Gordon
7-Noah Vonleh
8-Julius Randle
9-Doug McDermott
10-Nik Stauskas
11-Gary Harris
12-Dario Saric
13-Jusuf Nurkic
14-Tyler Ennis
15-Kyle Anderson
16-KJ McDaniels
17-James Young
18-Zach Lavine

I'dont want Ennis because of Rondo.
I'don't want Randle and Saric because of Sully and Olynik.

I'm ok with other options and with what our GM and scouts plan to do.

Bad night would be picking Smart (if we are keeping Rondo) or Randle....and god forbid choosing Ennis.  I like Saric but not waiting two years.

Vonleh, MCDermott (if we move up for another pick somehow), and Hairston or Levine at 17.  Or buy a late first/early second for Napier.

Trade Rondo to Sac for 2 mediocre young players and the number 8.

Drafting Vonleh at 6.

Us picking Randle at 6 and trading 17 for a pick in a future (and likely worse draft).

It'd take a whole season to judge the front office's actions. Last year, everyone hated the fact that Danny traded down for #13 just to draft Kelly Olynyk. And then we saw how it paid off.

I may feel bad if Danny drafted Randle at #6. But if that happens, I'll see if he can pan out like Kelly did.
