Not sure this is a good idea, KG.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

There aren't a heck of a lot of opportunities to make $12 million.  You do it as long as you can.

This may be good for our future draft picks.

I think getting paid is an excellent idea for him.

Other than bringing "down" his career PPG/RPG/etc what's the harm? Play till they won't pay you or the work isn't worth it anymore.

It makes me sad to see him so diminished, but that happens to all athletes.

He has obviously earned the right to play as long as he wants to. It was kind of sad seeing him last year cause he really regressed even from his last season with the celtics. He is such a passionate guy and expects so much of himself, it is the worst to see him have the will but not the physical capacity to do the things he used to.

I'm in shock!
KG can play as long as he wants, he deserves it.  BUT he is spent.  Many games Plumlee outplayed him.

KG was never *not* going to play next season.  All that talk of "pride" and all of that is nonsense compared to a $12M payday.  Given that he'll probably be playing about twelve minutes a night, that'll be the easiest $12M he's ever earned.

KG talks a lot - a LOT - but he's not that different from everyone else.

The Nets allowed 100.5 points per 100 possessions when Garnett played and a whopping 106.6 points per 100 possessions when he didn't. Opponents shot 3.6% better when he was off the floor, and as unbelievable as it sounds, Garnett rebounded a league-best 32.1% of opponents' missed shots this year.

Step 1:  Sign Pierce this offseason
Step 2:  KG feigns an injury for a few months
Step 3:  Mid-season buyout
Step 4:  Feel-good KG/Pierce reunion on Boston's bench.

He's made over $300mm during his career. What's an extra $12mm?

This is the truth. KG is the second best PF of all time and he is one of those few superstars that made their teams better and he is loyal to his team.

Kevin Garnett has more than earned his right to play his contract to the end.
