If we are going to completely tear it down and rebuild, then I think the kings are a great fit. If we are dealing Rondo I want more than the 8th pick. If I were Ainge I would ask for McLemore and another pick in addition to the eight.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

On a serious note though I am indifferent to whether or not we keep or trade Rondo. I'd be for a full rebuild if Danny thought it was the best option and I'd also be fore keeping rondo and trading for Love. Love and Rondo might be enticing for Melo to come join and there is your new big three.

So throwing out what you think about rondo, if he's good or if he sucks, you have to acknowledge that having him makes it easier to attract other major free agents to dramatically improve your team.

The Kings are a great fit and McLemore and the 8th pick would be fair compensation in my opinion.

I think we have to dump Wallace as part of it.

Adding Love and Melo would be my first choice, but I don't see how it's possible.  Therefore, I say blow it up and trade Rondo.

unfortunately, there is a major dropoff after #7 in this draft:

Wiggins Embiid Parker Exum will go 1-4 in some order

Vonleh Smart Gordon are clear 5-7

Who goes #8? I would want Jusuf Nurkic, but he will also be available in the early teens. So if we got #8, I'd want to trade down with someone in the 11-15 range, and take Nurkic Capella Stauskas or Ennis.

There just isn't anyone who provides clearly good value at #8, unless Randle gets taken early and Smart or Gordon is still available.

You silly, Randle is right there with that second tier, whether you realize it or not.

The draft always ends up being more unpredictable than we expect.  Who would have guessed Bennett would have gone number 1?  It's likely that someone from that top 7 or 8 will fall a few spots.

Trading Rondo would signal a plan that involves not being competitive until after Wallace's contract expires.  There would be no need to move him since it would cost assets to dump his salary.

This week in these forums I have read that Love is worth 3 #1 picks and Rondo is worth only one.  I don't even know where to begin to argue any of these comments.  I am very grateful Danny is the GM and not some of the people on this blog.

Cuz love ::) has a ring and drops trip dubs in the playoffs like it's his job, is epic defensively unless instructed to cheat (that was by design a lot folks), has a ring ( one more time for ya head)...dropped 40+ on Miami in Miami and got no help. Best player in a Series that included 4,5,6, future HOF's
Played hurt. Is in a similar sit as love and is NOT visiting other cities and making his current team go through hell.

This board is group stoned....some kinda contact internet high??
Can't teach passion and fire.
Would love to get love but only to put with the better guy...Rondo

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
It's probably Green or Avery Bradley+the 17th+future picks for the 8th pick.
We'd then have to swing the 8th pick to Minny for K Love but they also take back Wallace and our crap.

ie:
To Minny:
-2014 #6
-2014 #8
-G Wallace
-J Thompson
-2014 #17 pick from Celtics

To Sacramento
-2014 Minny pick#13
-2016 Brooklyn pick
-2015 Celtics pick
-Kevin Martin

To Celtics:
-Kevin Love.
-Corey Brewer

Read that last line again. One more time.

So, wait, the Celtics would be giving up five 1st round picks for Love? I hope not...that's a TON.

Think of it as three to get Love and two to get rid of Wallace.
