I'm freakin losing my mind right now.  I can't handle it.

I understand that it's most likely we just take someone #6, take some #17 ... and move on without any fireworks...

But the potential is outrageous.

A Love trade?

Utah/Cavs potential trade?

Getting something for Green?

Smith to the Kings?

A Rondo trade?

Boston moving up for Embiid?

Saric falling?

Embiid falling?

Lakers making moves?

This has the potential to be an insane draft.  I can't wait to see what happens.

I haven't been. It feels like the unveiling of a mystery, and in many ways it is. The direction that Danny and Brad are planning to take this team will be revealed in some ways.

Duncan and Oden/Durant.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

All of that, plus:

Exum falling

Melo signing with us via illegal Rondo collusion

Another free agent / trade target that Danny has been lining up in secret with no leaks

Gary Harris or Doug McDermott falling to our 17th pick

Our worst case is something like Marcus Smart and TJ Warren.  That is our worst case scenario!  (Other than giving up 4 picks including one of the Nets picks for Love, then having him bolt)

Yeah, I'm pretty pumped. There's just so many moving parts it seems and our beloved Celtics appear very much at a cross road.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

The problem is that it can all go wrong and be a disaster. The guys rated at 6 most likely won't a good fix for the Celtic (Smart or Randle for instance) and all the good fits for the Celtics may be gone at 17. If they could trade down a few slots and up a few slots this could get interesting in the long term. I think the top of the draft is overrated but there are some real shooters (and I mean shooters and not just scorers) in this draft as well as some serious athletes. I can see a lot of these guys staying around the league for a long time.

I'd have to say I haven't been more excited for a draft.  Anticipation of the 2001 was high with the C's having 3 picks.  But as a non-college hoops guy, this year with CBlog and all the info available about possible trades and potential picks, this has to be the most exciting.

I don't really know what to hope for exactly -- and I know that no matter what happens it will take about 5 minutes for me to adjust to supporting whatever Danny does (that's how fickle I am with these things).

It would be great if a few Cbloggers who are draftniks and college b-ball observers could keep an ongoing set of threads (a few of you leading your own draft thread) -- each person (a few) creating their own 'Big Board' so guys like me can have a better feel for what to root for and read some astute analysis as picks are made -- especially leading to #17 as names will become less familiar to me as the draft moves on.

I am hopeful that the C's can pick up a 2nd rounder too so that the excitement can keep rolling after #17 (or wherever the C's end up if they trade down).

That's pretty amazing when you think about it.  How good is the league going to be in 5 years when this draft class starts entering its prime?

Don't worry about good fits for the Celtics.  None of our players are so valuable that they can't be replaced.  We need talent at every position right now.  Anyways, look at this:

Wiggins
Parker
Exum
Embiid

Those are the top 4, which means we're guaranteed one of Gordon or Vonleh at the very least.  The only way we pick someone else is if Danny thinks they're better and keep in mind, he is better at evaluating talent than anybody on this board and he's had personal workouts with his training staff from most of them.  It's hard to be pessimistic right now.

If ya'll went into the 97 DRAFT with expectations of Duncan with the 3rd pick... And went into the 2007 DRAFT with expectations of oden/durant with the 5th pick... Y'all probably deserved the disappointment.  ;)

I said draft... Not lotto drawing.  I've never been more excited for a draft.

I'm very excited for the draft, but I would be sad if we went full rebuild. So I am a mixture of excited and nervous.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

A USA soccer win plus a draft day trade for Kevin Love would make Thursday one of the most memorable sports days.

I think i was as excited heading into both the 2001 draft (3 celtic picks and all the HS kids), and the 2007 draft (listened to every minute of the 7 hr. Celticstuff Live draft night special...)

Seems rather insipid to separate the hour out from the whole package.

I'll settle for a Portugal victory, I think.
