If we somehow ended up with 4 first rounders, drafting Saric should be part of the plan. We've got to stagger these contracts somehow.
I doubt we end up with 4 first rounds, but we could add the 7th or 8th and possibly move up a few spots from the 17th. I hope we can get Embiid and either Smart or Gordon with the 7th or 8th. If we do, drafting Saric with the later pick would make a lot of sense because we could stagger the contracts and because of his talent.
We would certainly be headed back to the lottery next year in what is expected to be another strong draft and we'll have the Clippers pick as well. By 2016, we will again likely have another lottery pick between our own and Brooklyn's pick. We will also have a ton of cap space. I'd be surprised if one or two of our players were not approaching all star level of play by then along with a few strong role players including Sully, Oly, and Bradley.
Bottom line is I don't think this rebuild will take five years. We should be competitive with young improving talent in three or four years. Personally, I'll enjoy watching the process.
