(This is also how I'm hoping it goes down, unless Embiid falls to 6 or we trade up for him.)

6. Boston Celtics: Aaron Gordon, Arizona, PF, 6-9, 220, Fr. ? The Celtics will be ecstatic if the athletic Gordon falls to them. If Rajon Rondo is still around, Gordon will become his alley-oop target.

17. Boston Celtics (from Brooklyn): Kyle Anderson, UCLA, SF, 6-8, 220, So. ? Anderson, who played point guard for UCLA, would give the Celtics some versatility at the small forward position.

Anderson's offensive excellence would pair nicely with Aaron Gordon's defense for the next 4-15 years, and having an elite point forward like Anderson (and Gordon's passing/decision making ability) would make it easier to replace Rondo with a shooting PG in the future.

The media's obsession with trading Rondo.

Or we could just have another good passer on the floor with Rondo?  Pierce was a point forward basically.

It would be nice for players to have, you know, an actual NBA position they can play on both ends of the court, but I guess that's clearly an overrated concept in some people's minds.

I'm impressed with this one actually because they usually have us drafting any guard (even a SG) and saying he replaces Rondo and we trade him, but now even a SF (at 17 in the draft) will replace Rondo.  I'm sure he will lead the league in assists in no time.

Well, drafting two forwards means there will be an urgent need to reorganize the roster.

His MD makes sense, except Smart sliding to 11?  That would surprise me a lot.

Am starting to think the Sixers are going to gamble on Embiid at 3.  If they don't, I think he could slide to 6.

if the C's take Gordon, it will be with the intent of him becoming the future SF.  would bank on #17 being used on anything but another forward unless it's a swingman that can play either the 2 or 3.

Gordon and Randle are on my dont draft list so this is kind of a bummer for me.

Honestly, I think that Embiid will either be taken somewhere between 3-5, and if he is available, I can see Danny passing on him (hopefully for the right reasons because it's all up to the medical staff, really).

However, if the Spears Mock Draft is correct and Smart is available at 6, why on earth would we take Gordon?  That would be a disaster.  What skills does that guy have?  He's kind of a tweener who can guard a few positions and pass, but has close to zero offensive ability - not even at the free throw line; and at 17, if Young's gone :( , we should take Warren.  People question McDermott's ability to guard 3s, and the same concern should be for Anderson.  He looks like he has no quickness and is running in molasses.

The draft from hell for BOS. One can play defense and one can play offense. Two role players. Need a core 3-some before you fill in around the edges.

PHI taking a risk on Embiid seems to be betting the farm on one swing for the fences. Could happen, but they''ll be in lottoland for a long time if they miss. They lost 21% of home attendence the last two season and they're going to draft a player that won't play much this year and will be a bust at worst? They don't have the future picks to be risking a bust like we do and they have very little talent as is.

Well, it's Philly and their kindly fans are reknown for patience. ;)

If Philly drafts Embiid, you can kiss their 2015 first rounder goodbye.  They won't make the playoffs.

I'm not sold on Gordon, but Kyle Anderson would be great. I'd prefer Embiid (unlikely) or Smart at 6.
