Aaron Gordon In Consideration To Go As High As No. 4 To Magic
Aaron Gordon is receiving consideration from the Orlando Magic with the No. 4 overall pick in the NBA draft and is not expected to fall past the Sacramento Kings at No. 8.

Gordon displayed a 39-inch vertical leap during the Chicago pre-draft combine.

"If and when I reach my full potential, I think I will be better than everybody [in this draft]," Gordon said. "I think I will have an edge."

I'd be SHOCKED if that happened.  If they actually wanted Gordon, they could just trade #4 to Boston for #6 and #17... Boston would gleefully take Embiid (or Exum if Embiid goes #3) and Gordon would still be there for Orlando at #6.

I think we should just stay at 6 for that reason. Hopefully get #7 or 8 and bc Gordon was picked player is bumped down to us. If we could get the 6,7,8; even if someone takes embiid we could still get Smart, Randle/Vonleh, Exum...or if he drops...Embiid, Randle/vonleh, Smart

Honestly there's probably nothing to these rumors.  There was another crazy rumor that Utah would trade Favors and #5 to the Cavs... Utah would take Parker #1 and the Cavs would hope to take Embiid 5th.   Combine that rumor with the idea that the Magic would take Gordon #4...

#1 - Parker - Utah
#2 - Wiggins - Bucks
#3 - Exum - Philly
#4 - Gordon - Orlando
#5 - Embiid - Cavs

How frustrating would that be?  That's why if Orlando actually likes Gordon, you jump at offering #6 + #17 in order to move up to #4 and secure Embiid.   I'm pretty sure Gordon would still be there for Orlando at #6.

Hey it's a draft, GM's can get stupid with their picks. Or they could fall in love with someone like Gordon and feel that he is that good at number 4.

Vonleh to the Jazz.

Gordon 4.

So...1-3 is 3 picks...Embiid, Jabari, Wigins or Exum...

So Exum falls?

That's interesting...
If we could get Henson for 17
I'd take Exum over Embiid
See if he can play 1 or 2

We could use TE, future picks, sully to get Monroe
And upgrade at SF.

If he works out at SG you have
Rondo
Exum
Green/ upgrade
Monroe, Sully/Oly
Henson
That's a young talented playoff team.

According to this mock draft, Exum is projected to be drafted by the Celts

Apparently the Magic GM must be trying to get fired.

This off season is crazy.
There are so many pieces in play between the draft, Love, Asik, Henson, Monroe et al.
Ainge has lots of options.
I'm glad I don't have to make the decisions.

At first, I had no interest in Exum mainly because if you read his scouting report (see below), one of his weaknesses is shooting.
http://nbadraft.net/players/dante-exum

Admittedly, I prefer a guard that can score on his own.

But, the more I read about him, the more I am intrigued.

If he can improve and/or work on his jump shot and free throws, he could end up becoming a star, and sooner before later.

Personally though, I'd be surprised if he was still available at no 6.

I think you have a better chance of getting Embiid at 6 then Exum.

I've been very hard on Gordon for the past few weeks, but I do believe he has talent and is a hell of an athlete. He will never be able to shoot, but he can bring other things to the table. I just don't like him for our current team since we desperately need scoring/shooting.

Saying all that, 4 is way to high for him but I'd be happy if they took him. Pushes 1 more good player that may fit our needs our way.

I'm getting more and more excited for this draft - beside Wiggins and Parker, it seems 3 - 8 are all interchangeable, anyone can be #4, or 5 and so on...

sucks Embiid has that injury

I agree, if the draft is "flat" from 3-8 I feel much better about #6.

Of course, some of the flattening is because of downgrades (Embiid) which are not good. But if some is due to upgrades (Gordon, maybe Smart or Vonleh) then I'm happy.

at our range, I am obsessed with Smart or Gordon, any one of them I will be happy with. Gordon looked like he improved his shooting form from what I can see in his workout video with us. Smart and Gordon has that fire that I love. I think I read somewhere today that Gordon said along the lines like this

"I think I will be better than anyone in this draft"

That's the type of confidence I like
