Makes sense in that they have experience drafting injured big men and are NOT trying to make the playoffs this year. Oh well, guess Im back on the 'get Love' team.

Don't really believe it. I don't think Philly takes a chance on another injured big man. I believe they play it safe this year.

Somebody is going to gamble on him either them or the Magic it's not like their gms are going to get fired. Do these teams care if they have another lottery season? No they will gladly tank again
"7ft PG. Rondo leaves and GUESS WHAT? We got a BIGGER point guard!"-Tommy on Olynyk

The Magic are rumored to desperately want a point guard. They are high in Exum and Smart, also they have a 23 year old center who averaged a double double for the second time in a row. If they wanted another big man, I think would go after Vonleh just be safe.

doesnt make sense for the sixers, they already have an injured lottery bigman. Not sure why take the risk on another one when there are safer options to fill their needs at other spots

They took a chance on a big man who got an acl surgery and imo will take a chance on embiid. Decent chance at least one has a healthy career. If both do though the 76ers will be a top team from the east for a long time

There's also a decent chance that they'll be chronically be injured, and the also play the same position. They don't really compliment each other well at all.

Posturing.  They're leaking this to drum up interest in the third pick so they can move down and select someone else.  They'd love the C's to want Embiid enough so they could take someone like Exum without having to use the 3rd pick on a relative unknown.

There is a side of me that wants someone else to take Embiid so we won't have to take the risk of drafting an injured player or take the risk on passing up a perennial allstar.  It goes either way with him but its a gamble.

I just thought of the Eddy Curry/Ty Chandler Bulls...two young bigs, will dominate the league in 3 yrs...

Agreed. They are quite redundant. I think Embiid has a higher ceiling, but just think this is a head scratcher. Makes much more sense for Boston, who has no one at that position.

Speculation is that Philly is linking this interest out so that Milwaukee or Cleveland won't try to hard ball them on a trade up for Wiggins.

Embiid is a real C and Noel is a pf in the nba. Noel tops out at 225-230

Doesn't matter if he has PF size. Noel plays like a C

I expect PHI to tank this year, but if they miss on Embiid they're going to be tanking for years into the future and their future picks are average at best unlike ours.

Why would Cleveland or MIL want to trade with PHI?

Well, for example, Let's say Cleveland likes Parker, and Philly likes Wiggins (which by reports going to 213 is the case).  Cleveland offers to swap picks with Philly, and get an extra pick in the process, figuring that Milwaukee likes Exum, and won't take Parker. Or say Cleveland just goes ahead and takes Parker. Milwaukee could do the same thing with Philly, agreeing to switch picks in exchange for extra consideration.  Go back and check the 2006 draft, this was done several times.
