I assume the surprisingly intense interest from multiple GMs in the #17 pick is numerological... what with the C's having 17 banners and all...

Im beginning to like this Aldridge trade more and more now...Vonleh should start in Portland if LMA leaves, I should get a very good prospect at 6th, and 14th pick looking good also
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

?No, I?m not saying that actually. I?m saying that the draft is a big party for fans, it?s a big ordeal for a lot of people, and sometimes I think that I got caught up in that yesterday in that I was probably offering too much for a player that I wanted. And at the end of the day, when a deal didn?t happen, I wasn?t all that disappointed,? Ainge said. ?It was like, ?Wow, that?s unbelievable that that team turned down those types of offers for that player that they ended up drafting.?

haha Ainge sounds like some of us after a deal goes down when we complain that "I offered more for ____!!"

I'm reading this  quote out of context but my guess is that it means we were trying to give up 4 draft picks to Charlotte for #9 so we could take winslow... and then when they took Kaminsky, Danny was like "fuggin wut?"

From my perspective, the value of 2015 draft picks peaked yesterday morning and it's all down hill from here.   Pre-draft, I believed Okafor was the consensus #2 pick.  The fact that a guard who is believed to have major boom/bust potential was taken over him makes me think I was overrating how "can't miss" Okafor was.  You don't pass up on an can't miss all-star big unless you think he's not actually going to be an all-star.    The fact that a role player like WCS went 6th is pretty interesting... pre-draft they said he could slip all the way to 21 due to his foot problems.  I see him as having a Biyombo-esque career.  The fact that they mentioned that Porzingus was "at least" 2-3 years away and yet he was selected 4th was interesting.   Mudiay, who was believed to be one of the few guys with star potential, slipping all the way to 7th?  Concerning.  A bunch of you guys were in love with Winslow and that dude fell all the way to 10th behind Kaminsky.  Rough.    The Celtics took a guy projected in the 2nd round with the #16 pick which kind of lends credence to the idea that everything after pick 10 is a massive crap-shoot.

Trade value of those picks, from my perspective, just dropped significantly... and it's only going to get worse.  When you see some underwhelming summer league performances, it'll drop more.  When you see them struggle in preseason, it'll drop more.  A couple months into the season, all those guys you were hyped over and salivating about will be riding the bench or getting minutes in D-League... suddenly your "can't miss" #4 pick is the next Dante Exum or Aaron Gordon or Noah Vonleh...  You'll be prematurely calling them "busts" and shopping them frantically.  Some of those taken after 10 will be cut.  Some of you guys will luck out with a hidden gem.  Most of you are driving a brand new shiny car off the lot... the value just took a major hit.

I heard a rumor that the #17 pick was traded for an all-star right before the real NBA draft took place.  It's going to be funny seeing Yennie confirm that trade a day later when the trade value of those picks has taken a massive hit.

And now, my two 2016 1sts (MMSB's #2 projected and Disciples #4 projected) begin their slow climb to hysterical levels of trade value.

I happen to have a couple empty roster spots... so if any of you guys picking in the top 10 are having second thoughts and want to cash in while you can, I'm open to trade one of those 2016 1sts... you can let it ride, get an asset that will only increase in value over the next year, and try your luck at moving the picks for superstars next June.

Wait....if WCS will have a Biyomboish career....is that good or bad?

Also I disagree it is "all" downhill from here.

Yeah, if the Kings trade Cousins, I could see WCS put up a biyombo-esque 7 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2 blocks as a starter (Biyombo's starter stats last season)...  Not bad at all... but if that's what you're getting with the #6 pick?  Ooof

I'd be more comfortable with Biyombo/WCS in the 12-15 range.   But after seeing what Boston got with the #16 pick, maybe that's unfair to Biyombo/WCS

LarBird do you really expect anyone to believe this?

Am I understanding you correctly: even though these picks are now supposedly worthless... you want to trade for them?

If anyone believes this picks-lost-value stuff, or is itching to overreact... hit me up on PM... I'll make you an offer!
