.@TheRealTRizzo: Sources tell me Joel Embiid's physical w/ the #Cavs did not go well. Enough red flags that they won't take him #1 overall.

Very interesting.

I think was what was expected once Embiid refused to release his medical info to NBA teams.

I still think there is a good chance he can fall out of top three picks (solely due to health issues).

So the question now is, who gets the bounce if Embiid does fall?  You have Randle with the reports of surgery now.  He may've been someone to bounce up before that.

Vonleh?  Exum?  Heck, Smart?

Yup. The way his camp has been dancing around the issue means there is some sort of serious issue.

So what are the chances of the Celtics getting Embiid now?

So what are the chances of the Celtics getting Embiid now?

Without trading up, still basically 0.  Too much potential there.

EDIT:  Unless the medical reports are REALLY bad, in which case we might not want him anyway.

If his back truly has red-flag worthy issues, way up.

But false rumors have been spread before, though in this case I don't think the Cavs would bother. Either its true, or another agent is making up noise to try and get his client to move up.

You would think that it would shoot up a bit though..... I agree with Fafnir It may be a false report but mostly unlikely.

I don't get why people are hoping that he falls to us now. Unless the redflags can be fixed like Sully, and you can wait an other year for him to come back, why take him if he can't play effectively?

Unless our doctors can promise they can fix is, multiple red flags you don't take at 1-10. I don't care how big he is, how good he looked when he was playing. If he can't get his back side on the court, that a HUGE waste of a pick. Plus we already have one player that is still questionable back issues.

Now if he falls to 17th now like Sully did, sure why not if there is nothing better.

I don't see any logical reason why Cleveland would throw this out there to purposely effect his stock negatively if it weren't true.

Agreed. If nothing else, it lessens the trade value of the pick.

Well the Celtics desperately need a big man, and Embiid is the best fit. I can see Danny taking a risk on him like he did with Sullinger.
