The main reason I would have no issue trading Sully for Love is the fact that I personally believe he will never get his weight under control and never be in peak physical form.
If he could he could easily be a 20/10 player in this league. However, in his two years in the league, rather than lose weight he seems to have done nothing but put more weight on.
Sullinger spent most of the summer rehabbing a back injury. He has a good work ethic, It astounds me that people would doubt that especially after his improvement this year.
It astounds me that people think that someone can't work on their fitness/weight while the are rehab. Most ridiculous assertion I've seen in a while.
He's had weight problems his entire basketball career....saying he has a good work ethic is irrelevant when facts are he has never once been able to control his weight.
Considering that part of the rehab requires him to move as little as possible, it's not surprising he put on some weight. Now he has first offseason healthy, I think he'll lose weight or put on some muscle this summer.
So that's the excuse, he had to wait til his back healed before he could get conditioned so he was obviously going to get fatter?
If you are eating properly, even if you aren't conditioning your body you aren't going to be adding too much weight.
Also, why didn't he drop the weight when he finally started getting ready for the season AND why did we watch him continue to get bigger while the season was going on?
Sorry, all the excuses in the world aren't going to make me believe Jared Sullinger is suddenly going to get it and realize it's time to not become fat.
I'll believe it when I see it.
