That Judas is making all of his shots, making circus layups, and not turning the ball over for Miami like he did during some of his playoff runs with Boston? Everytime he makes a circus layup with defenders in his face i feel cheated. He went through terrible funks during his days with the C's but i have not seen that while he's been with Miami. It's kind of annoying and i wonder why that's the case.

Because the defense is focused on Lebron most of the time. Giving more easy opportunities for Allen. He's a 4th/5th option on Miami while he was 2nd/3rd on the Celtics.

He seems a lot healthier too
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

That explains why he could be shooting more efficiently, but for the life of me i can't figure out how he's now able to dribble into traffic and finish when he had so much trouble doing that for Boston. Maybe you're right, maybe he's healthier now?

It's because on Boston he would be running around screens the entire time on offense trying to get open and now he just sits in the corner.  When he needs to drive, he isn't winded so he has more control

There was a lot of attention on Ray when he shared a backcourt with Rondo.  He's getting easier shots now.

Ray has more distractions in MIA than he had here.   They have to double James.   He always took good care of his body and his game is based off a skill shooting.   His decline is less as he still has the skill.

So if Doc Rivers simplified the offense and removed all of the off the ball action that caused Ray to get tired quickly, he could be doing the same thing in Boston that he is doing for Miami? I always had the feeling that Doc Rivers system wasn't doing the players any favors. I thought Ray was totally done, but he now looks like he can play another 5 years. It's crazy.

No one on the Celtics commanded the constant attention Lebron does.  I think thats the leading reason for Rays better play.  The entire opponents defense is affected by what Lebrons doing with the ball, when Ray was here, defenders could stay at home more on him.

It was pretty hilarious watching him blow that layup after he got 4 steps without dribbling.

Spoelstra has done an excellent job of budgeting his minutes.

He's not playing close to the minutes he was in Boston.  If he was....He would be done.

Ray has been doing that his entire career.  It is what separates him from Reggie Miller.  I don't think he's making significantly more shots at the rim than he did in Boston.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I don't know about the 4 steps, but that was an incredibly make-able layup if he didn't try to sell the contact.  I thought he was high enough in the air that he could have just reverse dunked it instead of laying it off the glass.

Separates him from Reggie Miller? I thought it was universally accepted that Miller was 'better' than Allen - I guess that maybe an argument for another day.

As for Ray excelling these last couple of years, I do agree that it is pretty annoying. That three in game 6 was one of the biggest shots ever in finals history...total bs after his perennial playoff struggles with us.

If no one else will say it I will. I think you are misremembering things because Ray Allen is having success and that success is in Miami. Ray  drove lane a lot and dunked it and made up and under layups with the Celtics. The man score over 50 points for us one game in the playoffs. Not every one of those points came on run around screen catch and shoots or three pointers.

Ray Allen plays his game and when he can he drives, when it is there to be had. Nothing has changed except maybe he is a lot more rested at this time of year because he is coming off the bench, is playing less minutes and is now a top 5 option rather than a top three option. His game is still very much the same.
