Haha, they're joking about the power of Lebron's twitter account.  This has the making of a Dos Equis commercial - "his tweets have influenced player acquisitions by NBA front offices, retroactively..."  

On another front, we should have signed PJ Hairston during the season.  Sigh.

I have to say, I'm really hating all the leaks about who the teams are going to pick in this draft before the pick is actually announced.

After running through this thread for a bit, I feel like my earlier post was justified in spades...

The talent in this draft started to be overlooked by some Celtics fans b/c of the infatuation with the Kevin Love possibility...I would have been as psyched as anyone if Love was dealt here tonight, but that doesn't mean the Celtics "blew" this draft.

Marcus Smart is a beast...He will end up being one of the best players in this draft, hands down. At pick #6, that's pretty much right where he should have gone and the fans that are bashing him now, will regret it by the middle of the season.

Young is full of potential and at pick #17 is about as good as you could do...I like Gary Harris more, but with Rondo/Smart/AB on the roster, they couldn't afford to draft another guy for the 6'3" and under league.  And yes, I understand that AB could very likely be dealt.

DA has done a heck of a job tonight and I'm hoping he jumps into the 2nd round to grab a guy who has slid...

Oh, and one more thing, it's June 26th...It's not like the Celtics can't trade after tonight. As a matter of fact, with the players known now, that could make a deal easier.

Tavares. Not worth a 2nd IMO but if he goes undrafted, why not roll the dice? It's not like we're currently bursting with options at center or good shot-blockers

I loved Smart at #6, but I'm deeply disappointed by Young at #17 when Clint Capela was still on the board; he's a guy that I have top ten overall. Capela is a 6'11 center with 7'4 length and outstanding athleticism.
