we didn't tank this yr., we just weren't very good and had a lot of change over from one era to the next. if we were tanking rondo would have been moved.
I have no problem with going young and building through the draft, it does have it's benefits. but there's a time to do that and a time not to. this yr. I don't think there is a reason to as ainge has stated "there are no cornerstone guys in this draft". I think a lot of solid players will come out of this draft that will be around for a long time - a bunch of shawn marion's and jerry Stackhouse level players. but there is no KG, Duncan, Durant, or Lebron in this draft. so there is no reason to have wanted to "tank" this yr.
plus we have a legitimate shot at trading for a proven player in Love that we can add to what we already have and plenty of assets to add more quality players to go with them. it's a good season to have assets than players that could potentially be good.
if you can make your team better now? you do it! if you're waiting on potential? you could always be waiting. there's no reason to not want to improve your team now.
so would I want to tank next yr.? is there a Jordan, Durant, Lebron or Duncan going to be available? I think we would have heard if there was by now.
