Have heard that the Celtics like Smart a lot. RT @GoodmanESPN Marcus Smart will work out for the Boston Celtics on Friday, source told ESPN.

So we have heard they like Exum a lot, now Smart. Wonder if they could see either at SG next to Rondo. If they can't land Love , I wonder if they would take Exum or Smart and try to trade Rondo for a top 10 pick?

Or are they hoping someone panics and trades up with Utah to take the PG the Celtics do not need to leave a better chance that the guy they want drops.

Exum definitely looks like he can be a good SG or PG, he is 6'6" with a 6'9" wingspan. As a pg he can definitely take advantage of his height.

Smart is just a tank for his size. I'll be satisfied with either, but I really really like Smart

We will see who is available when they pick. I believe they have interest in Gordon, Smart and Exum but it will really depend on who is left at 6.

I think Smart would be a good fit. They wouldn't need to throw him into the fire immediately, he could play next to Rondo or Bradley and if Rondo leaves at the end of the year he can step in and play PG.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

must be Vonleh or Saric :)

Honestly, I remember Danny saying there were like 6-8 players he really likes in this range. No superstar franchise building blocks, but some very good players.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
So do the Celtics like Marcus Smart a lot, or do they "Like" like him?

Check yes or no.

Embiid.  Too bad we can't get him.

Can't blame them. They need depth at both guard positions. Not convinced Bayless is the answer. Having a Combo guard with size to play alongside of Bradley & Rondo is essential. As essential as a Center. Question is if there are any Center prospects at #17. I see a lot of promising wings and PG prospects at #17 so not sure it is a lock that they take a guard if Napier or Innes are projected to be available for the second pick. Gordon would be interesting as an asset and do wonders for marketing. Lob City here we come.

This is nothing but a ploy, and I like it.

i'm wondering if danny's trying to get some of the teams ahead of us to take some of these players that "we really like" early so that maybe one of the projected top 3 falls to us.

my personal thoughts on the top 3. i'm not all that impressed with wiggins.

embiid seems like one of those long line of C's that have all this "potential" but is still raw and more of a project than anyone in the projected top 10, but projected high because talented bigs will always be put in that spot. imo i'd rather take as much of a guarantee as I could than taking a project.

parker - this is the guy I think danny covets. for all the reasons I can't stand, he's a tweener.

I don't think it alters Rondo's immediate future with the team. Both guys can play both guard positions and could fit well alongside Rondo. No need to move Rondo.

Wasn't that Wyc claiming the day after the draft that Danny had previously told him there were six players in this draft that he really liked?

But I'm confused who is being quoted here as having heard that re: Smart?
