My thinking is that if Orlando still views Smart as their top choice like they did last year and the Cavs pass on Embiid then it all falls on Philly. If Philly selects one then there is a good chance the other falls. I do believe for what it's worth that Cleveland will pass of Embiid and grab Wiggins. Parker goes to Milwaukee at 2 because they do have Sanders and could use a scorer. Celtics could very realistically end up with Exum or Embiid.

Love your optimisim but think you are delusional.  No way Embiid slips that far.  He will certainly be taken by one of the top 3, and probably 1 by Cleveland.  If we could put any package together to get him, I would do it.  I would give up every single asset to end up with him as our starting center.  He is going to be the next big star in the NBA. Lebron. Durant. Embiid.

At the end of the day, none of the 'chatter' really concerns me.

One way or another, the C's are going to end up with one of Exum, Smart or Vonleh. Which I'm perfectly comfortable with. Maybe if we're really lucky one of the top 3 slip to us, which of course, I doubt.

Could this be the start of a slide down the drafts and maybe the real draft for Exum? He's gotten to stay this far up in the drafts because of the hype and the unknown. I wonder as he gets worked out here more and more and people get wind of the workouts if his stock will plummet.

Someone plummets in the draft every year. Wonder if he will be this year's player to have a precipitous slide down the draft ladder.

have you read a single bad thing about Embiid's workouts? I haven't.  Has he had any workout other than with Cleveland. If he has, that means Cleveland has not made a commitment to him.

Think if Magic really want Smart over Exum (or Parker, Wiggins, Embiid) than they'll try to swap the pick for either Jazz's two picks (5 and 23) or Celtics (6 and 17). Doesn't make sense for them to draft him there and not try to trade down first.

Looks like reality is starting to set in on Dante Exum.  The two guys I've been hoping that we don't draft at six (if we keep the pick) are Exum and Randle.  I prefer Smart or Gordon, and Vonleh would be my third choice at that spot.

On another note, I'm surprised to see that Stauskas has moved ahead of Gordon on DX's mock draft.  He impresses me as well.  I wouldn't hate seeing him ending up drafted with the sixth pick.  I also still like Saric a lot.

What a draft!

don't get too far ahead or yourself, jury is still way out on all of these kids, none of them dominated college.  Its Lebron. Durant. Anthony Davis.  Mind you, Durant and Anthony Davis dominated college.

Or Randle or Gordon or we'll trade the pick for someone like Harrison Barnes.  Who knows.

I see they have Nurkic at 12. I wouldn't mind Danny trading for the #11 pick and bringing him home.

Sorry but we'll draft Aaron Gordon & TJ Warren. We need to boost our offense.

I'd be giddy if we landed Exum, for some reason I have a gut feeling he's going to be special. Of course I have jack Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. to back that up hahahaha.

Would be hard for me to trade the pick if we landed Exum, I could live with our young core in that case.

It really means nothing folks.  Here is an article about the accuracy of various mock drafts in 2011:

http://weaksideawareness.wordpress.com/2011/06/24/watching-the-watchers-the-best-nba-mock-drafts/

Draft express got 5 picks right that year.  Some dude named David Kay from teh Sportsbank had the most accurate and he got a whopping 7 right.

He has us drafting Vonleh and Tyler Ennis this year.

http://walterfootball.com/nbadraft2014mock_1.php

Here is another grading of the mocks and he got second here.  Draft Express was way down the list on this one in terms of accuracy.

http://weaksideawareness.wordpress.com/2013/07/02/grading-nba-mock-drafts-2013-from-best-to-worst/

They are useful for Scouting reports and test results but other than that they are woefully a guessing game.

Randle maybe, but no way does Ainge make the mistake of drafting Gordon that high.

Also, I was more or less making that statement as a "if we don't trade the pick" alternative. Personally, I would prefer it if Ainge is able to trade the pick for a 'star'.

totally agree! if we could land Love, exum, and keep rondo I might reach "08" enthusiasm for this team. i'd prefer him at the 2 and trading rondo if we were to get exum would be stupid.

I don't know everybody else in the top tier or 30 picks or so all look like good to decent players. exum imo stands out as special to me.
