Hey, I Love the kid and would love to have him. But four first round picks , and a combination of Green, Sullinger, and Kelly O. That's what I call overrating a player. I'll keep the assets and hope he signs here for that price.

no he is not overrated but some of the suggested packages for him are simply outrageous.

Underrated by people who think that he isn't good enough to be a potential MVP.

Yes he is. Minny asking too much for a pf who can't even plays defense & didn't make the playoffs.

I think Danny is crazy if he doesn't do what it takes to pair Love with Rondo.

If Danny has to give up a handful of magic beans like draft picks or role players to get a golden goose like Kevin Love then so be it because quality trumps quantity, especially in pro sports. As an example many people thought Phoenix overpaid in 1992 for a short and overweight forward with elite offensive and rebounding skills but questionable defensive ability. That deal worked out pretty well for them. It didn't work out so good for Philly.

Danny can keep collecting draft picks and average or above average players any time. They're all pretty common and easily replaceable. He also has a knack for finding cheap and half decent talent from unorthodox places: undrafted Vitor Faverani from Europe, Terrence Williams from China, Chris Johnson from the D-League, etc. But getting a player from the NBA's slim top shelf talent pool isn't so easy.

Does Minny want to overpay for Sully or KO?  ;D

Completely agree.

A point made more vital by the fact that gathering together top-shelf players makes the role players come running to play for whatever we have to give.

It's just as likely our trade assets are underrated.

Nope, not really.

He is what he is...a perennial 25-13 and 4 guy whose 6'10, 260 and STILL young - with room to improve on perhaps his only deficiency - defense.

And he will improve defensively - in BOS.

He seemed pudgy coming out of college, but chiseled himself into better shape.

Once he gets here, look out Tom Brady...the best Passer will then be wearing Celtics Green :)

John Wooden compared this skill to the great Bill Walton and Wes Unseld...Love it.

EDIT: Of course the best passer in the NE is Rajon Rondo - no offense, Rajon.

KLove will be an awesome backup QB in Green.

More 6'7 than 6'10.

But underrated athletically, 35 inch vertical.

But a cerebral player with grit.

I haven't been the hugest fan of Love but those numbers are legit.

i'm all for getting Love.

but the point to getting Love is to be able to add to him and Rondo. We can't do that if we give up everything like some posters are suggesting. giving up everything is pointless.

is Love overrated? depends on who you ask.

I don't know about overrated. I do think some people, on hear, on sports shows are throwing the kitchen sink for this deal to happen, because the losing season is still fresh.

People think DA is going to overpay, yet we haven't hear anything about a possible potential trade. Any one that we have has been fabricated.

I have a feeling DA is waiting for all the other teams to throw their offers on the table, and then see if he's willing to trump them. He'll have the best hand to play, it's just if he's willing to play that hand for Love.

DA is smart, he knows he'll need an other player to make a contender, he wont trade all our assets for one player. If he can't get Love or maybe even Melo, he'll go into the draft, trade around, draft potential, and see what happens next summer.

Would you accept using half of the Celtics' tradeable assets to get Love and a defensive center?

i'm not using the Brooklyn picks for either. everything else for Love and a defensive center? Absolutely!

if I'm Danny, before I make an offer and start negotiations with anyone. the first thing I say is "the Brooklyn picks are pretty much untouchable".
