The only success Flip had was taking the Detroit Pistons to a few back2back Eastern Conference Finals appearances, and then losing it there.

But that was because the Pistons had arguably the best starting five of that decade. When Big Ben left, not anymore!

Regardless of Flip's apparent spite for BOS (according to his recent "Tim Duncan-BOS" comments), he and Minny MUST recognize that BOS can offer a lot.

Maybe he realizes that and is using the Carmelo Anthony trade as a template for playing hardball and holding out for everything the Celtics can offer.  Maybe Flip doesn't want to be like McHale asking for Rondo then accepting Telfair, but is going to accept nothing less than what he wants.

True, but even when BOS traded for KG, we sent them the Farm, even then.

It's Minny's fault that they squandered it...

Look at Big Al...he just made 3rd Team NBA...but not in Minny.

If Minny's serious about building right, then perhaps they should pry Masai Ujiri from Toronto....that man has built playoff teams where ever he's gone..look at DEN and TOR.

And Masai did those teams in relatively fast order, too. Man has a GREAT basketball mind.

These comments from Flip only solidify Love being moved. No way these two spend the season together.
Not good for us though with the power he's been given and them bumping heads. You really think he's going to send him off where HE wants to go here to Boston?

KG started going, "Hey, you've got to start doing more." And he's talking to some of the bench guys. "You've got to start doing more." And Sam said, "Hey, hold it, hold it. Let me tell you something. You're making all the money. Hey, it's your responsibility. You make the money, you've got to live up to that." So, that was the mentality, and from that time, KG never ever from that point, he always took responsibility.
... Which is why that poor sonofa**** took responsibility and suffered through 12 seasons of garbage teammates in Minny and the very first time he was surrounded with competent help, he won a championship.

I almost feel sorry for that organization......ALMOST..LOL. That's not the best way to go about wooing your star player to stay.

Nope, I only feel bad for the fans. Its ashame they have to suffer through such incompetence. I read a story on CanisHoopus about a fan who had season tickets for years but finally cancelled them after Flip named himself coach.

Danny isn't perfect but we should all be happy to have a GM like him. This is what we could be dealing with.

I think Love would be willing to go to half a dozen teams at least.  But Flip's job isn't to make Love happy or unhappy. It's to make the Wolves the best team going forward, and that means taking the best return offered to him.  The best return is probably going to come from a team Love wants to go to, since otherwise Love will just leave that team in free agency and go whereever he wants.

Flip is right. Love is mentally weak. At least play out your contract

And then leave and come to BOS....with Minny getting nothing in return. That's smart.

Or - sending him to somewhere that he won't sign an extension with, thus probably getting THAT Gm fired for even accepting a one-year rental.

Just let love join up with Rondo, Flip...man up. Love does have leverage. I understand now why KG had/has so much disdain for Minny while he was in BOS....they held onto him for too long.

So if Danny just let Rondo play out his contract, knowing that he wants to leave and he's touring a potential new city, you'd be totally cool with that?

full max deal for Bledsoe? that's crazy!!

I can easily see the Suns moving Bledsoe, Alex Len, and one of the Morris twins along with some picks for Love then.

well that should kill that deal.  Bledsoe's not a max player.  have to admit Minny getting both of those players would have to get their attention

I don't see that quote as implying that the Suns would trade both Dragic and Bledsoe, just that these are some of the big assets that they can use. I assume that if Bledsoe wants the max, he's the one getting traded.

Still, I don't see why the Twolves would want a Love trade that brings them back 1 or 2 point guards as the main return, considering they are moving into the Rubio era.

I'm also glad now that we didn't trade for Bledsoe last summer. He's not worth a max deal, and we can get a better, cheaper player in Smart in the draft if we want.

I don't see Love staying in PHX if they are moving both Bledsoe and Dragic. Unless they think they could bring in Melo or something, that team would be just as bad as the TWolves with out those guys.

There's going to be a Ricky Rubio era? What is this league coming to?
