The Jazz may be looking to take 18-year-old power forward Noah Vonleh with the No. 5 pick in the upcoming 2014 draft.

Also mentioned that kanter could be on the block

Would be a wise move. Kanter isn't a great defender, putting Favors/Vonleh would be a great rebounding and blocking tandem.

Exum would probably be with the Magic.

In this scenario, Im guessing you think Orlando could take Smart over Exum.  Somehow I doubt it, particularly if the organization shares the belief with some others that Exum is the second coming of Penny Hardaway.

Of course if 1-3 arent Wiggins, Embiid and Parker in some order, Exum is likely gone anyway.  I doubt Exum falls to 6.  Get ready for Marcus Smart if we keep the pick.

Agreed, exum is not likely to fall to #6. But for me, smart is a very good player and will be a good pick up for the celtics. I have no problem with that.

Wouldn't be surprised to see any of Smart, Vonleh or Randle go in any order in the 5-7 range. I suppose it's even possible to see Exum slip past #4, although unlikely.

I'd be reasonably content if the C's get any one of those players. Of course, Vonleh would be my preference. The only player I really don't want to see the C's take is Gordon.

Ehh I really love Vonleh. IMO the next best player on the board is Julius Randle.

If we keep the picks...

#6- Smart

#17- Trade for Kanter...think this would be an interesting move. We need a C, the Jazz would have Vonleh and Favors are the 4/5, and there would be plenty of swingman (position of need, especially if Hayward bolts) that they could draft at #17.

Exact quote on the Kanter angle:

Quote
The Utah Jazz have recently made a potentially significant decision, with VP of player Personnel Walt Perrin telling The Tribune on Thursday that the organization sees Derrick Favors as more of a center than power forward.

That is perhaps the strongest indicator yet that Enes Kanter could be on the trading block. Yes, Kanter can play power forward. But he?s much more of a center, and while he and Favors can play at the same time, both aren?t going to play major minutes at the same spot.

Hm, I would keep Kanter over Favors.

a little surprised they'd take Vonleh instead of Randle to play PF.  team needs offense and Randle would theoretically be able to provide that quickly.

Would be interesting if we could trade for Kanter. He fills a need in one of the harder positions to fill. I think he's ready for a heavier minutes load, which he likely won't get in Utah.
