. I don't like LeBron but major cramps aren't something you can just gut out.
Wrong. People walk them off sometimes.
http://www.outdoorplaces.com/Features/Backcountry/cramps/I don't think many of you have been in truly hardcore environs like say a march in the desert with a backpack and carrying a weapon. You can bet your rear you walk them off then! You don't get to call time outs in combat or the military.
You do know that cramps have basically nothing to do with hydration or salt, right?
Dehydration: Sports and other vigorous activities can cause excessive fluid loss from perspiration. This kind of dehydration increases the likelihood of true cramps. These cramps are more likely to occur in warm weather and can be an early sign of heat stroke. Chronic volume depletion of body fluids from diuretics (medicine that promote urination) and poor fluid intake may act similarly to predispose to cramps, especially in older people. Sodium depletion has also been associated with cramps. Loss of sodium, the most abundant chemical constituent of body fluids outside the cell, is usually a function of dehydration
http://www.medicinenet.com/muscle_cramps/page5.htmWebMD and my doctor friend disagree with you.
Funny because this is from WebMD. 3-4 lines down after title. Dehydration is mentioned clearly as a cause of cramps.
http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/tc/dehydration-topic-overviewMy doctor friend, LOL, that is like my dad is tougher than yours. I can probably find one that disagrees with yours. We actually got our canteens checked in the US Army sometimes to make sure we had clean water. I think banannas help too.
Electrolytes in your body have to due with dehydration. There are fatigue cramps as well that you get on marathons or 20+ mile marches but I doubt two hours of basketball from a professional game would get that. They are different. I would like to point out that Bosh, Diaw, Ray Allen, Wade and Duncan all played more minutes.
