If the scores stay like this, 1-0 Germany, 1-0 Portugal. We will still advance right?

I think if Ghana scores another goal, they advance

I heard that, too, but I really don't get it. Wouldn't they then have the same record and same goal differential? US won the head to head - it's strange that has no bearing on tie breakers. Hopefully it doesn't come to this.

Total goals is the next tiebreak.  If Ghana get 2 and we get none, they'll have 5 and we'll have 4.  Head-to-head is the next tiebreak after that.  I guess the logic is performance across the entire group stage is better than performance in one game.

They would have scored more goals if they score again (will be 5) and US stays at one goal in this game (4). That willbe the tie breaker.

Portugal 2 - 1 Ghana
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Hopefully the US can hold on here.  Looking tired.

Hate to see the US give up another goal and Portugal get two more.  Checked in on the other game, Ghana beginning to look defeated.

To anyone who thinks NBA refs are the worst in any sport, I present the World Cup officials.

I said this weeks ago to much derision.

I also think they should let Ronaldo play for us for the duration of the tournament, since he's been our MVP.

What do we say about Ghana eliminating the US in the World Cup?

NOT TODAY!

That's nuts since they've been awful, doubly so in a sport where a single score is so valuable.
