Germany 1 - 0 USA, goal Mueller
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

If the scores stay like this, 1-0 Germany, 1-0 Portugal. We will still advance right?

Yes.  And if Portugal/Ghana stay tied (1-1 now) it doesn't matter what happens this game.

If Ghana takes the lead we're in some trouble, though.

I think if Ghana scores another goal, they advance

Thomas Mueller, 24 years old

9 WC games, 9 goals

He's going to shatter the scoring record  at this pace.

Well, everyone is certainly on edge now.  The rollercoaster ride is really at full throttle now.

If Ghana wins 2-1 and USA loses 1-0, it's another WC run stopped by Ghana.
I moved the cheese.

Go Portugal!  One more goal makes this a lot less stressful.

I heard that, too, but I really don't get it. Wouldn't they then have the same record and same goal differential? US won the head to head - it's strange that has no bearing on tie breakers. Hopefully it doesn't come to this.
